A solar tracker should track the sun‘s movement with maintaining the perpendicularity between sun light and solar panel to enhance the efficiency of electric power generation. Especially, the solar tracker equipped with CPV sensor requires very accurate real-time tracking accuracy. However, the solar tracker structure can be deformed because of wind loading or snow loading so that the perpendicularity cannot be maintained even if the tracking accuracy of the CPV sensor itself is within the allowance of accuracy. Therefore, the solar tracker structure should be designed to have sufficient stiffness and strength against the deformation due to wind or snow loading. In this paper, to evaluate the wind loading depending on the parameters such as wind direction, wind velocity and the pose of the solar modular panel with respect to the ground, we carry out finite element analysis and suggest the conditions that maximum wind loading occurs.
