Ossifying fibromas are benign fibro-osseous tumors of mesenchymal origin. Although ossifying fibromas have principally been found in the jaw, they have also been reported in the frontal, ethmoid, sphenoid, and temporal bones, as well as the orbit and anterior cranial fossa. Ossifying fibromas affect- ing the jaw exhibit variable behaviors ranging from slow growth to occasionally aggressive local destruction. In the present article, we discuss a differ- ential diagnosis considered for maxillary swellings and report a rare case of ossifying fibroma occurring in the maxilla.

The gene for esterase (rEst1) was isolated from a new species of genus Rheinheimera by functional screening of E. coli cells transformed with the pSMART/HaeIII genomic library. E. coli cells harboring the esterase gene insert could grow and produce clear halo zones on tributyrin agar. The rEst1 ORF consisted of 1,029 bp, corresponding to 342 amino acid residues with a molecular mass of 37 kDa. The signal P program 3.0 revealed the presence of a signal peptide of 25 amino acids. Esterase activity, however, was associated with a homotrimeric form of molecular mass 95 kDa and not with the monomeric form. The deduced amino acid sequence showed only 54% sequence identity with the closest lipase from Cellvibrio japonicus strain Ueda 107. Conserved domain search and multiple sequence alignment revealed the presence of an esterase/ lipase conserved domain consisting of a GXSXG motif, HGGG motif (oxyanion hole) and HGF motif, typical of the class IV hormone sensitive lipase family. On the basis of the sequence comparison with known esterases/ lipases, REst1 represents a new esterase belonging to the class IV family. The purified enzyme worked optimally at $50^{\circ}C$ and pH 8, utilized pNP esters of short chain lengths, and showed best catalytic activity with p-nitrophenyl butyrate ($C_4$), indicating that it was an esterase. The enzyme was completely inhibited by PMSF and DEPC and showed moderate organotolerance.

An appropriate emergency treatment plan is important for a good prognosis. Guidelines are useful for delivering the best care possible in an efficient manner. The International Association of Dental Traumatology has developed a consensus statement after a review of the dental literature and group discussions. The guidelines represent the current best evidence based on literature research and professional opinion

Zoological Parks house exclusive animal species, thus creating a source of education and awareness for visitors. Big cats like tigers and leopards are among the most visited species in zoos globally. However, they often display stressful or stereotypic behaviours. Such behaviours are influenced by multiple factors including visitors, animal history, and captive environment. To understand this impact, we investigated the behavioural response of tigers and leopards to visitation, captive, and biological factors. The behaviour of eight big cats housed in the National Zoological Park, New Delhi, was monitored using focal sampling technique during May and June 2019. We recorded the captive and biological factors and visitor density for the subjects. The study revealed high proportions of inactive and stereotypic behaviours amongst the species. Tigers and leopards were found to perform stereotypic behaviours for 22% and 28% of their time, respectively. Generalised Linear Models revealed a significant variation of stereotypy in association with the factors. Stereotypy was influenced by visitor density, age, sex, breeding history, coat colour, and enclosure design. Adults, males, white-coated, previously bred, and those housed in smaller and simple enclosures display more stereotypy than young, females, normal-coated, unbred, and those housed in larger and complex enclosures, respectively. A high density of visitors induced more stereotypic behaviours amongst the big cats. As providing entertainment and awareness amongst the public is one of the fundamental objectives of the zoo, visitors can not be avoided. Thus, we suggest providing appropriate enrichments that would reduce stereotypies and promote naturalistic behaviours.
Numerical study of heat and moisture transport through concrete at elevated temperatures

This research article focuses on numerical investigation of heat and moisture transport through concrete exposed to high temperaturessuch as fire. The conservation equations for moisture and energy transport through concrete have been represented in terms of temperature,pore pressure and vapor content as field variables. As the resulting governing equations are coupled and non-linear, the equationswere solved numerically using Galerkin's weighted residual finite element method and an iterative solution technique. After validatingthe model, a detailed simulation study has been carried out to understand the role of gradients of temperature, pore pressure and vaporcontent on heat and moisture transport through concrete exposed to ISO 834 fire curve. Results obtained at the end of 30 minutes exposureof concrete show that the temperature gradients become very steep after 12 minutes of exposure of concrete, which in turn results inincreased vapor generation and 93% of vapor generation is completed at the end of 20 minutes. Due to steep temperature gradient alongthe length of concrete, condensation of vapor takes place which is followed by blockage of pores giving rise to sudden peak pore pressurerise and 97% of peak pore pressure is attained at the end of 18 minutes itself. It is observed that for the initial 18 minutes, the peak porepressure front and peak vapor content front follow the same path and after 18 minutes the peak vapor content front moves slightly aheadof the peak pore pressure front.

Superoxide dismutase (SOD) isoenzymes areessential for scavenging excess reactive oxygen species inliving organisms. So far, expression pattern of SOD isoenzymesgenes along leaf development plus their sub-cellularlocalization and physical interaction network have notyet been clearly elucidated. Using multiple bioinformaticstools, we predicted the sub-cellular localizations of SODisoforms and described their physical interactions in rice. Using in silico approaches, we obtained several evidencesfor existence of seven SOD genes and a SOD copperchaperone gene. Their transcripts were differentiallyexpressed along with different developmental stage of riceleaf. Finally, we performed quantitative real time-polymerasechain reaction (qRT-PCR) to validate in silico differential expression pattern of SOD genes experimentally. Expression of two cytosolic cCuZn-SODs was highduring the whole vegetative stage. Two plastidic Fe-SODswere found and their expression levels were very low andstarted to increase from the late vegetative stage. Theirexpression patterns were very similar to each other, indicatingthe formation of heterodimer. However, theirexpression patterns are different from those for ArabidopsisFe-SODs. The expression of pCuZn-SOD was very high inthe early developmental stage, but qRT-PCR results weredifferent, which remains for further study. From the resultson the differential expression of SOD genes, we canunderstand the role of each SOD gene and even predicttheir role under certain circumstances based on in silicoanalysis.
Low frequency magnetoelectric effect in Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3-Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 particulate composites

We report structural, dielectric, ferroelectric, magnetic, and low frequency magnetoelectric ( ME ) properties of (1− x ) Bi 0.5 Na 0.5 TiO 3 (BNT)– x Ni 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 (NZFO) (x = 0.05–0.30) microwave sintered particulate composites. Distinct phases of BNT and NZFO were confi rmed by X-ray diff raction and scanning electron microscopy. Raman spectroscopy measurement showed the absence of micro-strains within the composite. The temperature dependent dielectric studies revealed the ferroelectric to anti-ferroelectric transition at 220 °C and anti-ferroelectric to paraelectric transition at 320 °C. The ac conductivity showed both frequency dependent and independent behavior. Temperature dependent dc conductivity showed that upto 200 °C charge conduction is due to hopping of electrons, whereas at higher temperature diff usion of oxygen vacancies are responsible for the conduction. Ferroelectric and leakage current density measurements showed enhanced conduction losses with NZFO content. The maximum ME coeffi cient at 10 Hz frequency is obtained for 0.80BNT–0.20NZFO (4.33 mV/ cm.Oe at 800 Oe).
