Simultaneous optimization of burrs size and surface finish when milling 6061-T6 aluminium alloy

Abstract- Taguchi-based optimization has been successfully applied in industrial applications. Some of these applications have more than one response to study. Most of reported applications of Taguchi method deal with single objective optimization, while multiple responses optimization has received relatively less attentions. The main objective of this article is to propose new modifications to application of Taguchi method by proposing fitness mapping function (ψ) and Desirability index (Di) for correct selection of process parameters setting levels that can be used for multiple responses optimization. The proposed method is verified by simultaneous minimization of surface roughness and burrs thickness during slot milling of 6061-T6aluminium alloy. It was found that surface roughness and burrs size can be optimized by selecting appropriate setting levels of process parameters. According to experimental results, feed per tooth has the major influence on variation of burr size and surface roughness, while cutting speed has shown less significant effect as compared to other cutting parameters used.

Purpose: Celiac disease (CD) is a common autoimmune disease with extra-intestinal manifestations, including neurological disorders. There are few reports to assess various factors in increasing the chances of developing neurological disorders in CD, so we designed this study. Methods: All patients with CD at any age who had been referred to the Celiac Clinic were evaluated for neurological problems. CD was defined as IgA anti-transglutaminase antibodies (anti-tTG) of 18 IU/mL or higher in serology and Marsh type I or more severe in histopathological evaluation. Logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the impact of various independent variables on the neurological manifestations. Results: A total of 540 patients enrolled in this study. A 360 (66.7%) of patients were children. A 64.8% and 35.2% were female and male, respectively. Overall, 34.1% of patients had neurological manifestation, including headache, neuropathy, epilepsy, and ataxia. The odds of developing neurological manifestations in children were significantly lower than in adults (odds ratio [OR], 0.66; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.45-0.96; p=0.03) and in patients with gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms significantly higher than in the group without GI manifestations (OR, 1.77; 95% CI, 1.18-2.63; p=0.005). Other variables, including Marsh classification (OR, 0.44; 95% CI, 0.18-1.11; p=0.08) and anti-tTG levels (OR, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.999-1.001; p=0.59) did not significantly increase the chances of developing neurological disorders. Conclusion: Our study showed that increasing age and the presence of GI symptoms, but not serological and histological findings, could increase the chances of developing neurological diseases in CD patients.

In this paper, a Multi-objective Modified Honey Bee Mating Optimization (MMHBMO) evolutionary algorithm is proposed to solve the multi-objective Distribution Feeder Reconfiguration (DFR). The real power loss, the number of the switching operations and the deviation of the voltage at each node are considered as the objective functions. Conventional algorithms for solving the multi-objective optimization problems convert the multiple objectives into a single objective using a vector of the user-predefined weights. This paper presents a new MHBMO algorithm for the DFR problem. In the pro-posed algorithm an external repository is utilized to save non-dominated solutions found during the search process. A fuzzy clustering technique is used to control the size of the repository within the limits because of the objective functions are not the same. The proposed algorithm is tested on a distribution test feeder.

Objectives: It is critical to assess community readiness (CR) when implementing childhood obesity prevention programs to ensure their eventual success and sustainability. Multiple tools have been developed based on various conceptions of readiness. One of the most widely used and flexible tools is based on the community readiness model (CRM). This study aimed to adapt the CRM and assess the validity of a community readiness tool (CRT) for childhood obesity prevention programs in Iran. Methods: A Delphi study that included 26 individuals with expertise in 8 different subject areas was conducted to adapt the CRM into a theoretical framework for developing a CRT. After linguistic validation was conducted for a 35-question CR interview guide, the modified interview guide was evaluated for its content and face validity. The quantitative and qualitative analyses were performed using Stata version 13 and MAXQDA 2010, respectively. Results: The Delphi panelists confirmed the necessity/appropriateness and adequacy of all 6 CRM dimensions. The Persian version of the interview guide was then modified based on the qualitative results of the Delphi study, and 2 more questions were added to the community climate dimension of the original CRT. All questions in the modified version had acceptable content and face validity. The final CR interview guide included 37 questions across 6 CRM dimensions. Conclusions: By adapting the CRM and confirming linguistic, content, and face validity, the present study devised a CRT for childhood obesity prevention programs that can be used in relevant studies in Iran.

This paper proposes a multi-objective optimal location of Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs) in distribution systems at the presence of Distributed Generators (DGs) by a Fuzzy Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization (FAPSO) algorithm. The proposed algorithm utilizes an external repository to save founded Pareto optimal solutions during the search process. The proposed technique allows the decision maker to select one of the Pareto optimal solutions (by trade-off) for different applications. The performance of the suggested algorithm on a 70-bus distribution network in comparison with other evolutionary methods such as Genetic algorithm and PSO is extraordinary.
