Contamination by foodborne pathogens and mycotoxins was examined in 475 eggs and 20 feed samples collected from three egg layer farms, three egg-processing units, and five retail markets in Korea. Microbial contamination with Salmonella species, Escherichia coli, and Arcobacter species was examined by bacterial culture and multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The contamination levels of aflatoxins, ochratoxins, and zearalenone in eggs and chicken feeds were simultaneously analyzed with high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with fluorescence detection after the post-derivatization. While E. coli was isolated from 9.1% of eggs, Salmonella species were not isolated. Arcobacter species were detected in 0.8% of eggs collected from egg layers by PCR only. While aflatoxins, ochratoxins, and zearalenone were found in 100%, 100%, and 85% of chicken feeds, their contamination levels were below the maximum acceptable levels (1.86, 2.24, and 147.53 μg/kg, respectively). However, no eggs were contaminated with aflatoxins, ochratoxins, or zearalenone. Therefore, the risk of contamination by mycotoxins and microbes in eggs and chicken feeds is considered negligible and unlikely to pose a threat to human health.

Differential regulation of TLE3 expression in the mouse testis during postnatal development

Spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs; also known as Asingle [As] spermatogonia in mice) divide to self-renew or to produce progenitor cells known as Apaired(Apr) spermatogonia in basal compartment of seminiferous tubules of mammalian testis. These characterized cells are the finally differentiated product of a developmental process referred to as “spermatogenesis.” In the development of SSCs it is critical to maintain a balance between self-renewal and differentiation. because an excess of either process will lead to infertility. these two processes are tightly controlled by intrinsic signals of SSCs and extrinsic signals from the microenvironment, known as the SSC niche. The SSC niche is formed by Sertoli cells, the only somatic cells found inside the seminiferous tubules. The WNT/β-catenin pathway is known to regulate Sertoli cell functions critical to their capacity to support spermatogenesis in the postnatal testis, but The mechanisms and factors of the pathway are not well known. We found a factor TLE3 (Transducin Like Enhancer Of Split 3). The transcriptional co-repressor TLE family is known to function as transcription co-repressors within the context of Wnt signaling by interacting with histone deacetylase HDAC2. We examined the expression level of TLE3 in various mouse tissues. As a result of RT-PCR, TLE3 showed significantly higher expression in testis than that in other tissues. Immunofluorescent analysis revealed that TLE3 and HDAC2 expression are differentially regulated in the mouse testis during postnatal development. In adult testis, TLE3 and HDAC2 were co-expressed in Sertoli cells. TLE3 and HDAC2 protein are also located in nucleus in mouse TM4 Sertoli cells. Taken together, TLE3 may play a role in regulating WNT/β-catenin pathway via interaction with HDAC2 in Sertoli cell. Futher studies are needed to look into factors that regulated by siTLE3 in Sertoli cell and interated with TLE3 in WNT/β-catenin pathway.
지역사회 정신건강서비스 이용자와 비이용자의 지역사회통합 수준 비교

본 연구는 지역사회 정신건강서비스가 정신장애인의 지역사회통합을 목적으로 한다는 전제하에 우리나라 지역사회서비스 이용여부에 따른 지역사회통합 수준의 차이를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 지역사회에 거주하는 정신장애인 중 정신건강서비스를 이용하는 자 142명과 서비스를 이용하지 않고 정신의료기관에서 외래치료만 받는 비이용자 140명의 지역사회통합(물리적, 사회적, 심리적 통합) 수준을 조사하였다. 먼저 지역사회통합의 예측요인을 분석한 결과, 대상자의 연령, 직업유무, 자원접근성이 통합을 의미 있게 예측하는 요인이었다. 이러한 예측요인들을 공변인으로 설정하고 이를 통제하여 두 집단의 세 가지 영역의 통합수준을 비교하였다. 그 결과 물리적 통합에서만 이용자의 통합수준이 의미 있게 높았고, 사회적 통합의 사회관계망 크기는 비이용자가 더 높았다. 그리고 사회적 통합의 두 번째 차원인 접촉빈도와 심리적 통합은 집단 간 차이가 없었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구자들은 우리나라 지역사회서비스 이용여부가 지역사회통합에 의미 있는 기여를 하지 못하고 있음을 지적하며 정신장애인 회복에 특히 중요한 사회적 통합을 높이기 위한 가능한 대안을 제안하였다. Community mental health services are looking forward to community integration for people with mental disorders. The aim of the study is to analyze the contribution levels of community integration of community-based services compared to 142 people with mental disorders who use the community mental health service and 140 non-users who only use outpatient treatment. Each participants completed a series of questionnaires including physical, social, and psychological integration. We noted that age, job, resource accessibility were a significant predictor of community integration. By controlling these predictors as covariates, the two groups differed significantly in terms of physical integration and social network size, but there was no significant difference in social contact frequency and psychological integration. As a results, we suggest that community-based services should be improved in order to increase the level of community integration.
디자인 직군과 경영 직군의 데이터 활용 방식 분석 연구 : 문제의 발견과 해결 과정에서의 데이터 제공 디자인(Datainformed Design) 관점으로

Background : This study aims to analyze how practitioners in the ‘Design’ and ‘Business’ fields utilize data from a ‘Data-informed Design’ perspective in order to propose a co-design direction for those practitioners to discover and solve problems centered on data. To achieve this, the data interpretation and ideation processes of design and business practitioners are observed, and the results are quantified. Methods : Through empirical research, we observed the process in which design practitioners and business practitioners analyze data and generate ideas. Subsequently, we separated the interpretation process from the ideation process for analysis. In the interpretation process, we conducted protocol analysis and classified the topics into ‘Business Management’, ‘Design Output’, ‘Customer Response’, and ‘Infra & Structure’. We compared the frequency and duration of speech between design and business practitioners for each topic. For the ideation process, we evaluated the ‘Novelty’, ‘Usefulness’, and ‘Commercial Appeal’ of ideas generated by design and business practitioners and we compared the results. Results : The following is an analysis of the data interpretation process. By topic, designer practitioners spoke more frequently and for longer durations than business practitioners about ‘Design Output’, while business practitioners spoke longer than designer practitioners about ‘Business Management’. Furthermore, while designer practitioners tended to swiftly approach problems across topics based on their knowledge, business practitioners relied on data and focused on ‘Business Management’. The data-informed ideation process was analyzed. Although there were differences in when and how the two groups utilized numerical and visual data, both groups scored higher on ideas based on numerical data. When analyzing data-informed ideation by topic, differences were observed in how the two groups utilized numerical and visual data, as well as in the evaluation of ideas by topic. Conclusions : This study analyzes the characteristics of design practitioners and business practitioners when interpreting and generating ideas based on the same data, and derives considerations for ‘Datainformed co-design’ for them.
