Brand Distribution Service and Its Effect on Customer Value

        Margaretha,Rizal Edy Halim 한국유통과학회 2018 유통과학연구 Vol.16 No.1

Purpose - The purpose of the research is to further explore the understanding of the nature of the brand distribution service (i.e., service brand) by undertaking a quantitative investigation. We focus on the role of customer’s perception of service brand on the customer value creation process. Research design, data, and methodology - This study used single cross-sectional design and 137 airline passengers as respondents using a convenience random sampling. We distributed the online questionnaires by email address. The empirical setting for this research is airline service in Indonesia with a consideration that airline service has the useful context for this research as the service delivery process involve extensive customer interactions with the airline and its employees. We then analyzed the data using multiple regression (step-wise) method to fulfill the research objectives. Results - Using the step-wise regression method, the result shows that the influential factors to create customer value are cost and company image. The result suggests a company to improve its costs components and its company image in order to increase the customer value. Conclusions - The research shows that costs play a critical role, and completed with the company image to form the customer value variable. This shows that mostly customer formed their value based on costs they sacrificed. Mainly, this evaluation is monetary cost based, while Indonesian customers tend to have a high value for money demands.

Threats to the populations of two endemic brushturkey species in Indonesian New Guinea

        Margaretha Z. Pangau-Adam,Jedediah F. Brodie 국립중앙과학관 2019 Journal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity Vol.12 No.4

Half of megapode bird species occur in New Guinea and adjacent islands, and almost all of the species areendemic to this region. Despite rapid regional development and deforestation in New Guinea, little isknown about the population ecology of these birds, many of which are threatened or endangered. Weused camera traps to assess impacts of anthropogenic disturbance and introduced predators on theoccurrence and local abundance of red-legged brushturkey Talegalla jobiensis in lowland forests ofNimbokrang, Papua, and the wattled brushturkey Aepypodius arfakianus in the Arfak mountains, WestPapua, Indonesia. In hierarchical occupancy models, detection rates were higher in logged forest for bothbrushturkey species. Occurrence rates of brushturkeys were not affected by logging, hunting pressure, orpig abundance. However, as degradation of megapode habitat is increasing across New Guinea, it ispredicted that concurrent pressures from two or more of these threats could affect the distribution andpopulations of brushturkeys.

      • Hormone Use is Associated with Lymphovascular Invasion in Breast Cancer

Loof-Johanson, Margaretha,Brudin, Lars,Sundquist, Marie,Rudebeck, Carl Edvard Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.3

Background: Risk of developing breast cancer increases with short breastfeeding and the use of hormones. The prognosis of breast cancer is better if the tumours are hormone receptor positive. Since breast feeding affects estrogen and progesterone receptors, we wanted to investigate how such reproductive factors as breastfeeding and the use of hormones interact with known prognostic markers and specific tumour characteristics in women with breast cancer. Materials and Methods: A total of 250 women treated for breast cancer from a larger cohort completed a questionnaire on breastfeeding, number and age at births and use of hormones. A logistic regression analysis was made to search for connections between known prognostic markers on the one hand (type of cancer, grade, tumor size, estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor, lymphovascular invasion and DNA-ploidy) and reproductive data, breastfeeding, and hormone use on the other. Results and Conclusions: Hormone use, but not breastfeeding, was significantly associated, also on multivariate analysis, with the prognostic variable lymphovascular invasion, connected to a worse prognosis. No other hormone use or breast feeding correlations with prognostic variables were found.

Effects of Bank Macroeconomic Indicators on the Stability of the Financial System in Indonesia

Sebastiana VIPHINDRARTIN,Margaretha ARDHANARI,Regina Niken WILANTARI,Rafael Purtomo SOMAJI,Selvi ARIANTI 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.1

This study examines the non-performing loans of rural banks and macroeconomic factors in Indonesia, including inflation, exchange rates, and interest rates. Theoretically, the existence of erratic macroeconomic conditions can affect the level of non-performing credit risk in rural credit banks in Indonesia. The effect of macroeconomic conditions on non-performing loans has a different response for each economic sector. The main objective of this study is to determine the effect of macroeconomic factors (inflation, exchange rates, and interest rates) and bank-specific factors (credit) on the Non-Performing Loans (NPL) of Rural Banks in Indonesia for the period from January 2015 to December 2018. This study uses a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) estimation to determine the effect of independent variables consisting of macroeconomic factors and bank-specific factors. Based on the estimation results of the Vector Error Correction Model, three variables that have a positive and significant effect on long-term non-performing loans are credit, inflation, and interest rates. Meanwhile, in the short term, there are only two variables that have a positive and significant effect on non-performing loans, namely, credit and interest rates. Inflation and exchange rate variables have a negative and insignificant effect on bad credit in the short term.

Effects of anthropogenic disturbance on a Victoria crowned pigeon Goura victoria population in northern Papua, Indonesia

        Henderina J. Keiluhu,Margaretha Z. Pangau-Adam,Hendra K. Maury,Matthias Waltert 국립중앙과학관 2019 Journal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity Vol.12 No.4

Most lowland tropical forests are global biodiversity hotspots, known for their high species diversity andendemism. However, conservation of these areas is challenging because of increasing human threats, including selective logging, large-scale plantation, and wildlife hunting. We conducted line transectsurveys to investigate the effects of human disturbance on the population of Victoria crowned pigeon(Goura victoria) in the lowland forest of northern Papua, Indonesia. Estimated densities of G. victoria werehighest in secondary forest with 7.7 [95% confidence interval (CI): 3.7-16.1] birds km-2 and in naturalforest habitat with 6.9 (95% CI: 3.2-14.7) birds km-2 but much lower in logged forest with 2.3 (95% CI: 0.8-6.8) birds km-2. At transect level, there were positive correlations of encounter rates of G. victoria withcanopy cover, fruiting trees, and distance to village and negative ones with ground cover, understorylayer, logging debris, and wildlife traps. The results suggest that G. victoria is tolerant to moderatedisturbance but suffers from severe disturbance. To protect crowned pigeons and other endemic Papuanfauna, impacts of logging and wildlife hunting must be reduced through law enforcement and integratedforest management strategies with proper involvement of all stakeholders, especially local people.

Bronchus perforation by EZ-BlockerTM endobronchial blocker during esophageal resection after neoadjuvant chemoradiation -a case report-

        Jorien M van de Pas,Margaretha CE van der Woude,Henricus J Belgers,Karel WE Hulsewé,Erik R de Loos 대한마취통증의학회 2019 Korean Journal of Anesthesiology Vol.72 No.2

Background: Double-lumen tubes (DLT) and endobronchial blockers (EB) are used for one-lung ventilation in thoracic surgery. More complications are seen when using DLT when compared to EB, while major complications are rarely seen. Case: This case report describes a perforation of the right mainstem bronchus by an EZ-Blocker EB in a patient undergoing a minimally invasive esophagectomy after neoadjuvant chemoradiation. Conclusions: We advise to insert an EZ-BlockerTM EB with caution and only under direct bronchoscopic visualization, especially in previous irradiated patients.

Confinement Effect in TEA CO2 Laser-Induced Plasma on Solid Organic Samples

        Nasrullah Idris,Yong-Inn Lee,Hendrik Kurniawan,Kiichiro Kagawa,Maria Margaretha Suliyanti,Takao Kobayashi,Tjung Jie Lie 한국물리학회 2005 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.47 No.1

A Transversely Excited Atmospheric (TEA) CO2 laser beam (500 mJ, 200 ns) was focused on soft solid organic compounds under a low-pressure surrounding gas at around 2 Torr. We found that in order to induce a laser plasma from solid organic sample, such as plastics, the ablated atoms must be confined in a small hole (diameter of about 1 mm and depth of around 1 − 2 mm). Using our unique technique of density jump measurement (Rainbow Interferometer), we proved that the plasma is excited by a shock wave and that the confining hole works to induce and enhance a strong shock wave. The plasma has favorable characteristics for spectrochemical analysis due to its low spectral background and sharp emission lines; hence, the spectra can be taken using optical multichannel analyzer (OMA) without gated mode. By using the confinement effect, we detected chlorine ionic lines (Cl II at 479.4 nm, Cl II at 481.0 nm, and Cl II at 481.9 nm) with relatively strong emission intensities in the plastic sample containing chlorine.
