Characterization of biomedical hydroxyapatite/magnesium composites prepared by powder metallurgy assisted with microwave sintering

        Guangyao Xiong,Yanjiao Nie,Dehui Ji,Jing Li,Chunzhi Li,Wei Li,Yong Zhu,Honglin Luo,Yizao Wan 한국물리학회 2016 Current Applied Physics Vol.16 No.8

Microwave assisted sintering has attracted much attention due to the greatly reduced sintering time. In this work, for the first time, hydroxyapatite (HAp)-reinforced magnesium (Mg) composites were prepared by the microwave assisted sintering technique. The as-prepared HAp/Mg composites were characterized by mechanical and electrochemical tests, XRD analysis, and preliminary biological evaluation. Optical microscopy observation confirms the homogeneously distributed HAp particles in the Mg matrix. It is shown that the relative density of HAp/Mg composite with 10 wt% HAp can reach 96.5% after only 10 min microwave assisted sintering. Furthermore, the mechanical properties of HAp/Mg composites are significantly higher than those of pure Mg. The corrosion resistance of HAp/Mg composites evaluated by immersion and electrochemical measurements in simulated body fluid (SBF) at 37 C reveals significant improvement over pure Mg. It is demonstrated that the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and biological behavior can be properly controlled by adjusting HAp content.

Application of Deep Learning in Motor Vibration and Noise Suppression Based on Negative Magnetostrictive Effect

        Zhang Xin,Li Chunzhi,Xue Ming,Wang Wenbin,Zhu Lihua 대한전기학회 2023 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.18 No.3

The suppression of vibration and noise is one of the critical problems in the optimal design of the motor. The vibration and noise caused by the magnetostrictive effect can not be ignored. In this paper, the vibration and noise caused by the magnetostrictive effect are suppressed by drilling holes in the stator and filling the holes with negative magnetostrictive material. Firstly, the electromagnetic–mechanical coupling model is established. By traversing all the drilling positions by finite element analysis (FEA), the stress value is calculated, and the drilling position corresponding to the minimum local stress is determined. It is found that the resource consumed by FEA is expensive, and the calculation time is prolonged. Deep learning is introduced as an alternative model to calculate the hole’s position and size. The Pix2Pix, Pix2PixHD, CycleGAN, and StarGAN are experimented with based on the PyTorch environment. Through the experiment, it is found that deep learning has an absolute advantage over the FEA in time which ensures a high accuracy rate. Finally, an experimental platform for measuring the strain of the motor stator is designed. According to the best positions and apertures of holes are obtained by the simulation and the actual situation, we drill holes in the motor stator and fill the holes with Ni, a negative magnetostrictive material. The result shows that the stator’s local stress is reduced by about 16%. The vibration and noise caused by the magnetostrictive effect are suppressed effectively.

Rapid Nondestructive Prediction of Multiple Quality Attributes for Different Commercial Meat Cut Types Using Optical System

        Jiangying An,Yanlei Li,Chunzhi Zhang,Dequan Zhang 한국축산식품학회 2022 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.42 No.4

There are differences of spectral characteristics between different types of meat cut, which means the model established using only one type of meat cut for meat quality prediction is not suitable for other meat cut types. A novel portable visible and near-infrared (Vis/NIR) optical system was used to simultaneously predict multiple quality indicators for different commercial meat cut types (silverside, back strap, oyster, fillet, thick flank, and tenderloin) from Small-tailed Han sheep. The correlation coefficients of the calibration set (Rc) and prediction set (Rp) of the optimal prediction models were 0.82 and 0.81 for pH, 0.88 and 0.84 for L*, 0.83 and 0.78 for a*, 0.83 and 0.82 for b*, 0.94 and 0.86 for cooking loss, 0.90 and 0.88 for shear force, 0.84 and 0.83 for protein, 0.93 and 0.83 for fat, 0.92 and 0.87 for moisture contents, respectively. This study demonstrates that Vis/NIR spectroscopy is a promising tool to achieve the predictions of multiple quality parameters for different commercial meat cut types.

Flavihumibacter profundi sp. nov., isolated from eutrophic freshwater sediment

        Ting-Ting Ren,Chunzhi Jin,Feng-Jie Jin,Taihua Li,김창진,오희목,이형관,Long Jin 한국미생물학회 2018 The journal of microbiology Vol.56 No.7

A Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, non-motile, non-spore-forming, and rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain CHu64- 6-1T, was isolated from a 67-cm-long sediment core collected from the Daechung Reservoir at a water depth of 17-m in Daejeon, Republic of Korea. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence studies placed the new isolate in the class Sphingobacteriia, and the isolate is notably most closely related to Flavihumibacter sediminis CJ663T (98.1% similarity), Flavihumibacter solisilvae 3-3T (97.8%), Flavihumibacter petaseus T41T (97.5%), Flavihumibacter cheonanensis WS16T (97.4%), and Flavihumibacter stibioxidans YS-17T (97.2%). The cells of strain CHu64-6-1T formed yellow colonies on R2A agar and contained MK-7 as the only menaquinone, phosphatidylethanolamine, an unidentified phospholipid, and two unidentified aminolipids as the major polar lipids, and C15:0 iso, C17:0 iso 3-OH, C15:1 iso G, and C16:1 ω5c as the major fatty acids (> 5%). The DNA G + C content of the genome was determined to be 46.5 mol%. The DNA-DNA hybridization values of strain CHu64-6-1T with F. sediminis CJ663T, F. solisilvae 3-3T, F. petaseus T41T, F. cheonanensis WS16T, and F. stibioxidans YS-17T were 12.4–33.2%. Based on the combined genotypic and phenotypic data, we propose that strain CHu64-6-1T represents a novel species of the genus Flavihumibacter, for which the name Flavihumibacter profundi sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is CHu64-6-1T (= KCTC 62290T = CCTCC AB 2018060T).
