본 논문은 실외환경에서 발견되는 텍스처 영역 분석에 관한 연구 내용이다. 최근 고성능의 디지털 카메라의 해상도 기능은 촬영된 이미지 상에 나타나는 상세한 오브젝트 정보를 제공하며, 이러한 상세한 정보의 효과적인 활용 기술은 매우 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 한 특정 오브젝트의 상세 정보인 다중 해상도 이미지들의 텍스처 기반 차별정보들을 추출할 수 있는 방법론을 제시하며, 실생활에서 흔히 발견되는 오브젝트 텍스처 정보들을 포함하는 데이터를 통한 실험의 결과를 통해 그 방법론을 검증하였다.
The Effectiveness of Acupuncture for Herpes Zoster: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Herpes zoster (HZ) results from the reactivation of a varicella-zoster virus infection and is accompanied by moderate-to-severe pain in most patients. The most common treatment is medication; however, there are still limitations. Acupuncture reportedly has meaningful therapeutic effects and is a possible alternative option in HZ. However, no systematic reviews examining the use of acupuncture and electro-acupuncture (EA) alone have been published; in this study, we therefore aimed to systematically review those techniques. We searched for clinical trials of acupuncture and EA treatment for HZ up to October 2022. Trials that used acupuncture were included. Outcomes were visual analog scale (VAS) and effective rate. Secondary outcomes were time to pain relief, time to pain elimination, incrustation, decrustation, lastly incidence of post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN). In total, 22 randomized controlled trials were included in this research. Compared with conventional medication therapy, acupuncture was associated with a significant improvement in VAS, effective rate, and times to pain relief and elimination. Times to new blister cessation, incrustation, and decrustation (days) were significantly improved. Furthermore, the incidence rate of PHN was lower in acupuncture groups. The results suggest that acupuncture could be a reasonable treatment option for patients with HZ who suffer from pain and accompanying symptoms.

Background : This study was carried out to select the medicinal crop having the superior antimicrobial activity against 5 microorganisms among 20 medicinal crops. Methods and Results : Dried plants were extracted by methanol. The extracts of each plant were evaporated under vacuum. The extracts were absorbed into 50㎕ of each extracts on paper disk and diameter of clear zone was confirmed around the colony. The results showed that diameter of the clear zone against Escherichia coli was the widest in Rhus javanica(R. javanica, 16mm), followed by Evening primrose(14.5mm), Chinaberry(13mm) and Giant knotweed(11mm). Also, diameter of the clear zone against Vibrio parahaemolyticu was the widest in R. javanica(26mm), followed by Evening primrose(21mm), chrysanthemum flower(19mm), Chinese pepper(16.5mm), Chidii rhizoma(11.5mm), Curly dock(11.5mm), Comfrey(11mm), Black nightshade(11mm) and Mustard(10mm). Likewise, diameter of the clear zone aginast Proteus mirabilis was the widest in R. javanica(11.5mm), followed by Chinaberry(11mm). Specially, diameter of the clear zone against Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus was identified only in R. javanica(12mm and 11mm, respectively). Therefore, R. javanica showed the best excellent antimicrobial activity among 20 medicinal crops. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents of R. javanica were 2,725mg/100g and 30.2mg/100g respectively. DPPH and ABTS activity of R. javanica were 92.6% and 98.4%, respectively. Conclusion : These results suggest that R. javanica can be utilized as natural food additives and antioxidant materials because of its powerful antimicrobial action and the high antioxidant activity.
Endogenous Cushing`s syndrome in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus

Introduction: Systemic lupus erythematosus is one of the autoimmune disease which glucocorticoids are mainstay of treatment. Cushing’s syndrome caused by glucocorticoid excess which could be exogenous or endogenous. Although iatrogenic Cushing’s syndrome is most common form especially in the patient with glucocorticoid treatment, endogenous glucocorticoid excess should be under consideration because of different treatment strategy. Case Report: We describe a 51-year old woman had had a longstanding history of SLE. She was treated with steroid and cytoxan pulse therapy and plasmapheresis. Her lupus activity had remained stable for 7 years with low-dose glucocorticoid treatment. She showed excessive weight gain, easy bruising, moon face, truncal obesity, acne, and menstrual disorder. With history of a steroid therapy, iatrogenic Cushing’s syndrome was considered by priority. However endogenous Cushing’s syndrome was suspected in respect that the feature of Cushing’s syndrome had been aggravated with the long term use of minimal dose glucocorticoid. After evaluation under the impression of Cushing’s syndrome we diagnosed her as concomitant endogenous Cushing’s syndrome due to a left adrenal adenoma.(table1)The patient underwent laparoscopic left adrenalectomy. SLE was controlled with transient apply of low-dose glucocorticoid treatment and her lupus activity remains stable without glucocorticoid treatment until now. Discussions: This is the first reported case of concomitant endogenous Cushing’s syndrome onset with preexisting SLE in Korea. This case shows the importance of differential diagnosis of exogenous Cushing’s syndrome and endogenous Cushing’s syndrome in autoimmune disease patients with glucocorticoid therapy.
Resource-aware smart home management system by constructing resource relation graph

<P>With the advent of smart home devices including Smart TV or smart appliances, home becomes smarter. Smart home is a complex environment where heterogeneous smart devices and appliances are connected to each other to provide various smart services. As the home environments become smarter and more complex, the need for an effective managing mechanism with minimum user's intervention is growing. However, just only putting together all the individual information of each resource is not enough, since it is very hard to catch out overall home situation without the relation information between the managed resources. In this paper, we propose a resource-aware management system with hierarchical smart home resource model, using the home context information which defines the information convergence model of heterogeneous home resources and builds a home knowledge by constructing a resource relation graph. The proposed system can accelerate deployment of advanced future smart home service features such as context-aware dynamic service composition, autonomous fault management systems. In addition, it allows cost effective remote maintenance system with highly convenient manageability. We implemented the prototype system of our proposed architecture and evaluated the performance on the query response time of home resources and relations in a real environment. Results showed that it has acceptable performance for navigating or control of home information and excellent improvements in terms of relation based search. We anticipate that the proposed system will bring the huge benefits not only to the consumers, home network service providers but also to the home network maintenance companies in terms of ease of management, and diagnostic effectiveness.</P>

<P>As home networks become more complex and dynamic, it is crucial to support seamless interoperability through automatic reconfiguration and robustness through the efficient handling of faults. This paper presents an adaptive middleware that provides an adaptive autonomic configuration for the heterogeneous home networks and an autonomous fault management that includes fault diagnosis and recovery from unexpected faults such as device plug-outs, network link failures, service failures, and other such incidents. The proposed adaptive middleware is based on the universal middleware bridge (UMB) to guarantee interoperability and robustness in the middleware layer appropriate to heterogeneous home networks.</P>
Home energy management system based on power line communication

<P>This paper describes a home energy management system (HEMS) based on power line communication. Smart metering and power line communication can provide detailed information of energy consumption patterns and intelligent controlling to appliances at home. We propose a HEMS that can provide easy-to-access information on home energy consumption in real time, intelligent planning for controlling appliances, and optimization of power consumption at home. The HEMS consists of three modules: an advanced power control planning engine, a device control module, and a power resource management server. Our prototype system reduces the cost of power consumption by about 10%.</P>

실세계 환경에서 촬영된 이미지가 컴퓨터 및 로봇 비전 분야에서 사용될 때, 이미지 상에 나타나는 특징 정보들을 추출하기 위해 여러 기술들이 사용되고 있다. 이러한 이미지의 특징 정보 중 이미지 표면에 직접적으로 표현되는 밝기와 음영은 외부 환경의 조명과 매우 밀접한 관계를 가지며, 여러 경로에서 적용되는 조명의 변화는 이미지 분석에 있어서 큰 영향을 끼친다. 본 논문에서는 이미지 상에 존재하는 텍스처 기반 패턴들을 사용하여, 이를 적절히 표현할 수 있는 수학적 모델을 기반으로 텍스처 표면에서의 반사율 조절을 통해 실세계 환경에서의 조명에 대한 영향을 분석하였다.
