<P>The effective work function (eWF) of Al-doped titanium carbide (TiAlC) metal electrodes prepared by atomic layer deposition shows a strong dependence on the underlying gate dielectrics. The eWF of TiAlC on HfO2 shows a low value of 4.2 eV independent of the deposition temperature and process conditions, whereas that on SiO2 shifted to a midgap value of 4.7 eV, and it was sensitive to the process conditions. The mechanism underlying this TiAlC work function dependence on different gate dielectrics is investigated in detail.</P>

MADS-box genes encode a family of transcription factors which involve in diverse developmental processes in flowering plants. Because flowering time determines the timing of transition from vegetative to reproductive stage and time to harvest, it would be a significant trait not only to plant it-self but also to breeders. The sequences and gene structures of Arabidopsis MADS-box genes are conserved in model legumes. However, complex genome structure, in soybean, makes it difficult to identify actual genes related to flowering and maturity, although QTL researches have been generally conducted. Therefore, we hypothesized that putative MADS-box genes around the flowering time and maturity QTLs would be candidate genes for those loci. In this study, after surveying 84 QTLs highly associated with maturity and flowering, the QTLs were selected if they were located near 473 putative MADS-box genes. Finally, we found the highly associated 16 SNPs at non-coding region of the putative MADS-box gene around the QTL in 28 late maturity cultivars and 28 early maturity cultivars. Furthermore, by comparing genetic diversity in the cultivated soybeans of late and early maturity groups as well as 20 wild soybeans, selection pattern during domestication was predicted.

원자로시설 해체계획서 작성은 원자로시설의 안전한 해체, 해체폐기물의 발생 최소화, 사람과 환경 보호 등을 위해 원자로시설 해체에 앞서 반드시 필요하다. 우리나라는 고리 1호기, 월성 1호기가 머지않은 시기에 해체 를 맞이하게 되지만, 해체계획서를 작성하는데 필요한 관련 세부 지침이 미비한 상황이다. 이에 따라 본 논문 에서는 IAEA의 원자력 국제 안전기준과 원자로시설 해체경험과 선진화된 규제체계를 보유하고 있는 미국, 영 국, 프랑스의 해체계획서 작성 지침을 비교분석하고 국내 상황을 감안하여 원자로시설 해체계획서 세부 작성 지침(안)을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 작성지침(안)은 국내 원자로시설 해체 관련 법령을 정비하고 해 체사업자가 원자로시설을 해체하고자 할 때 미리 준비사항을 알려주는 역할을 할 것으로 기대되고 있다.

<P>Transition-metal-free multicomponent reactions involving aryne precursors, secondary amines, and sulfuryl fluoride are reported herein. Zwitterionic intermediates formed from the reaction of arynes with amine nucleophiles can capture SO<SUB>2</SUB>F<SUB>2</SUB> under mild conditions, offering a novel and practical protocol for the synthesis of 2-dialkyl-, 2-alkylaryl-, or 2-diarylamino-substituted arenesulfonyl fluoride derivatives in good to excellent yields.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

<P><B>Summary</B></P><P><I>Jatropha curcas</I> (physic nut), a non‐edible oilseed crop, represents one of the most promising alternative energy sources due to its high seed oil content, rapid growth and adaptability to various environments. We report ~339 Mbp draft whole genome sequence of <I>J. curcas</I> var. Chai Nat using both the PacBio and Illumina sequencing platforms. We identified and categorized differentially expressed genes related to biosynthesis of lipid and toxic compound among four stages of seed development. Triacylglycerol (TAG), the major component of seed storage oil, is mainly synthesized by phospholipid:diacylglycerol acyltransferase in Jatropha, and continuous high expression of homologs of oleosin over seed development contributes to accumulation of high level of oil in kernels by preventing the breakdown of TAG. A physical cluster of genes for diterpenoid biosynthetic enzymes, including casbene synthases highly responsible for a toxic compound, phorbol ester, in seed cake, was syntenically highly conserved between Jatropha and castor bean. Transcriptomic analysis of female and male flowers revealed the up‐regulation of a dozen family of TFs in female flower. Additionally, we constructed a robust species tree enabling estimation of divergence times among nine <I>Jatropha</I> species and five commercial crops in Malpighiales order. Our results will help researchers and breeders increase energy efficiency of this important oil seed crop by improving yield and oil content, and eliminating toxic compound in seed cake for animal feed.</P>

<P>CONCLUSIONWe detected major differences in the transcriptional levels of genes involved in the biosynthesis of proanthocyanidin and anthocyanin among genotypes beginning at the early stage of seed development. 본 논문은 지상파 DMB 컨텐츠 서비스 만족도가 재사용에 영향에 관한 연구이다. 시청자 만족에 영향을 주는 요인은 컨텐츠 품질, 시스템 품질, 서비스 품질, 사용자 만족, 재사용 의도 등을 측정인자로 도출하여 분석하였으며, 재사용 의도의 결정변수로서 사용자 만족과의 인과관계를 실증적으로 검증하였다. 본 연구 결과, 지상파 DMB 컨텐츠 서비스 사용자 만족에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 공감성으로 분석되어졌으며, 서비스 만족은 재사용 의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 요인분석은 SPSS 11.5를 이용하였고, 요인추출방법으로 주성분분석을 사용하였으며, 변수요인에 대한 연관성을 보다 효과적으로 규명하기 위해 직교회전방식을 이용하여 분석하였다.

The purpose of this study is to verify the effectiveness of intraocular pressure control in glaucoma implants through simulation. The intraocular pressure was confirmed after the creation of an eye analysis model forming a normal intraocular pressure (10mmHg). By correcting the discharge conditions that can cause intraocular pressure to rise due to trabecular strain abnormalities, the pressure inside the eyeball at the time of glaucoma (25mmHg or more) was confirmed. An analytical model with a glaucoma implant mounted on the elevated eyeball was created to confirm the effect of reducing intraocular pressure. Analysis of the model"s analytical data confirmed the effectiveness of intraocular pressure control for glaucoma implants.

Background and Objectives: Non-linear frequency compression (NLFC) technology compresses and shifts higher frequencies into a lower frequency area that has better residual hearing. Because consonants are uttered in the high-frequency area, NLFC could provide better speech understanding. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical effectiveness of NLFC technology on the perception of speech and music in patients with high-frequency hearing loss.Subjects and Methods: Twelve participants with high-frequency hearing loss were tested in a counter-balanced order, and had two weeks of daily experience with NLFC set on/off prior to testing. Performance was repeatedly evaluated with consonant tests in quiet and noise environments, speech perception in noise, music perception and acceptableness of sound quality rating tasks. Additionally, two questionnaires (the Abbreviated Profile of Hearing Aid Benefit and the Korean version of the International Outcome Inventory-Hearing Aids) were administered.Results: Consonant and speech perception improved with hearing aids (NLFC on/off conditions), but there was no significant difference between NLFC on and off states. Music perception performances revealed no notable difference among unaided and NLFC on and off states. The benefits and satisfaction ratings between NLFC on and off conditions were also not significantly different, based on questionnaires, however great individual variability preferences were noted.Conclusions: Speech perception as well as music perception both in quiet and noise environments was similar between NLFC on and off states, indicating that real world benefits from NLFC technology may be limited in Korean adult hearing aid users.
