LMS Pisarenko Harmonic Decomposition에 의한 배경뇌파 파워 스펙트럼 추정

In this paper, the power spectrum of background EEG is estimated by the Pisarenko Harmonic decomposition based on Least Mean Square. At the power spectral estimation, the stochastic process of background EEg is assumed to consist of the nonharmonic sinusoil and the white noise. The optimal order of this model is the 6-th order when the eigenvalue' fluctuation of autocorrlation of background EEG is considered. The estimation results are compared with the results from the Maximum Entropy Spectral Estimation and the Pisarenko Hamonic Decomposition. From the comparison results, this method is possible to estimate the power spectrum of background EEG.

This paper presents the general form of transfer matrix of the digital Walsh sequency filter using the Walsh transform and the diagonal matrix. The useful model is built according with the general form of transfer matrix. And the characteristic of the filter is considered through the simulation. The filtering characteristic which is obtained from the simulation is satisfactory. It is possible that the filter is realized by means of the software or the hardware.

This paper study on soil properties and earth pressure at the domestic multi layer. Reliable predictions of the movement of earth retaining structures and the ground adjacent to the braced walls in urban excavation are often difficult due to many variable factors. Also, Unpredictable behavior of ground and retaining structure due to variation of the above factors may cause considerable damage to the adjacent structures, and cost many of human lives as a results of retaining wall failure. The earth pressure at the retaining walls was measured at total 13 numbers sites and Peck's empirical earth pressures adapted at the design stage. The geotechnical properties by this research was proposed as a preliminary design guide line in urban excavation where controling ground movement and safety assurance of adjacent structure. The earth pressure of rock masses were found to be 70.14% of Peck's earth pressure and the earth pressure of soil were found to be 44.4% of Peck's earth pressure. This study was carried out to evaluate a methodological aspect for determining the representative values of environmental noise in an area. The results are summarized as follows : (1) There was no significant difference in the average values of noise levels for the samples with 1 second sampling frequency and with 5 second frequency Hence, when noise monitoring is performed in the field, the sampling frequency of 5 second appeared to be reasonable for the determination of representative environmental noise levels. (2) Evaluation of Leq, ?? as an environmental noise indicator revealed environmental noise levels. (3) For obtaining the representative values in an area (ie 300m × 300m) within a standard deviation of 2 dB, at least 10 site seemed to be necessary for the determination of representative values. (4) For a particular area, at least 5 sites were necessary for the determination of the representative values with a standard deviation of 1.5dB or less. There results suggest that more detailed sampling procedures or methodological protocols are required for improving the currently applied environmental testing method in this country.
Staining of Biopolymers(Protein or DNA) in Gel Matrix by Counter Ion-Dye Staining Techniques

The development of simple and sensitive staining methods for detecting biopolymers (protein or DNA) in gel matrix continues to play an important role in biochemistry. Coomassie Brilliant Blue R (CBBR) stain offers reliable detection of proteins on polyacrylamide gel (PAGE), as a result it has become the most widely used organic stain. However, the stain lacks the sensitivity of silver stains. Silver stains have extended the range of sensitivity to femtograms but require a cumbersome procedures. On the other hand, numerous methods have been reported for the detection of DNA on agarose and PAGE gels. However, most of them utilize ethidium bromide (EtBr) which has a strong carcinogenic effect. Furthermore, this technique prolongs the exposure of DNA sample as well as lab personnel to harmful UV light. Therefore we developed the simple and sensitive staining methods for proteins and DNA based on counter ion-dye staining technique. Firstly, we describe a highly sensitive and simple counter ion-dye staining method for protein in SDS-PAGE using zincon (ZC) and ethyl violet (EV) mixture. After eletrophoresis, gels were rinsed and then stained with ZC and EV mixed solution. Without destaining step, as little as 1 ng of BSA can be visualized within 60min. Moreover it can be stained continuously by silver within another 1 hour having the sensitivity of 0.1 ng BSA. Secondly, we developed a counter ion-dye staining technique for DNA that permits a simple color-based detection using indoine blue (IB) and methyl orange (MO) mixture. DNA bands in agarose gels can be detected up to 15 ng by this method (EtBr; 8 ng). In polyacrylamide gels, DNA bands were also able to be stained with a mixed solution having about the same sensitivity as EtBr staining. These dyes used are known to be relatively nontoxic and the use of hazardous UV light is no longer necessary. Moreover, the sensitivity of this technique is comparable to that of EtBr method.
Resistivity Increase in 6H-SiC Crystal Grown with Simple Modification in PVT Process

<P>6H-SiC single crystal was grown with simple modification in PVT process to investigate the aspect of resistivity change in crystal. The modified process consisted of a new initial step to get rid of impurities in the growth cell before the main growth of SiC crystal. The new step in the modified process was designed to consist of higher temperature than the growth temperature for sublimation of impurities. SiC crystal grown with using 2 times of impurities sublimation process (ISP) step exhibited lower variation of resistivity value on whole wafer than SiC grown using with 1 time. With implementation of new modified step in growth process, SiC single crystal with resistivity value above 10<SUP>3</SUP>Ωcm could be obtained by simple PVT process and conventional low-purity SiC source material.</P>
Determination of N. N-dimethylaniline in penicillins by GC-MS

A quantitative GC-MS spectrometric assay was used for the determination of residual N, N-dimethylaniline as a contaminant in commercial penicillin derivatives from various sources. The assay utilizes selective ion focusing to monitor in a GC effluent the molecular ions of DMA generated by electron impact ionization. This method includes dissolution of the sample in alkaline solution, extraction of organic base with cyclohexane and injection into GC-MS with a 3% OV-17 column. Levels of 50 ppb of DMA were easily measured with a coeffecient of varation less than 5 % and recoveries from spiked samples exceeded 97 %. The results of the determinations of DMA in various commercial penicillins were relatively free of this contaminant.

A new staining method employing a mixed dye technique is simple, rapid, and sensitive. Solutions of Coomassie blue (CB, 0.25%) and rhodamine B (RB, 0.5%) were mixed up with 1:1 volume ratio. This mixed dye staining method detects as little as 25 ng of bovine serum albumine (BSA). RB acts as a supplementary agent which inhibits the binding of CB to gel matrix, and so increases the staining effect of CB and enables to achieve cutting down staining/destaining times.
