<P>High level of exposure to manganese (Mn) can cause a clinically and pathophysiologically distinct syndrome from idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD). We describe the clinical features and results of [<SUP>123</SUP>I]-fluoropropyl (FP)-CIT SPECT of a liver cirrhotic with atypical parkinsonism. The patient developed atypical parkinsonian features associated with elevated blood Mn from hepatic dysfunction. [<SUP>123</SUP>I]-FP-CIT brain SPECT images of dopamine transporter (DAT) demonstrated overall normal range of DAT uptake in the striatum although there were scattered small hypodense regions. The globus pallidum had increased signal on T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). All these findings are compatible with those of manganism, and are remarkably different from that in PD.</P>

Through the connection with sport team’s players by means of the school ties, regionalism and blood ties, the general public become to have a primary concern about professional sports. The sports team’s players as the mechanism which can ensure the regular consumers and reduce the risk in marketing are utilized. Thus the flexible application of the sports stars is indispensable to enterprise, and the specific stars’ present will affect the number of the audience and the program rating. This thesis is to study how the attribute of professional sports team-sports players and nepotism affect team attraction and team similarity, and how the team attraction and the team similarity affect on the corporate trust and product evaluation. In this study the total of 265 questionnaires were used in the analysis utilizing the LISREL 8.30 and SPSS 15.0 statistic program, and verified the hypotheses by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation. The findings of the study are as follows: First, sports players as the one of the attributes of a professional sports team have an positive effect on the team attraction. Second, nepotism which is one of the attributes of a professional sports team has an significant effect on the team similarity. Third, the team attraction and the team similarity positively influence on the corporate trust. Finally, there is an analysis result that corporate trust positively influences on the product evaluation. 본 연구는 프로 스포츠팀 속성인 스타 플레이어와 연고가 스폰서 기업에 대한 신뢰형성과 제품평가에 영향을 미치는데 있어, 팀 매력성과 팀 유사성의 심리적 기제를 살펴보고 있다. 분석결과, 프로 스포츠팀 속성인 스타 플레이어는 팀 매력성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 프로 스포츠팀 속성인 연고는 팀 유사성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 팀 매력성과 팀 유사성은 스폰서 기업에 대한 신뢰형성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 신뢰는 제품평가로 이어지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 볼 때, 프로 스포츠 팀 속성인 스타 플레이어는 팀 매력성을 형성하고, 팀 연고는 팀 유사성을 형성하여 스폰서 기업에 대한 신뢰를 형성하는데 중요한 역할을 한다는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

The poultry red mite (PRM), Dermanyssus gallinae, is one of the most important external parasites in the poultry industry. PRM adheres to birds’ bodies, and its hematophagy causes anemia and itching, and reducing egg production (~20%). Fipronil is a toxic pesticide used to control PRM. Thus, an environmentally friendly alternative control agent is needed. In this study, the effectiveness of various environmentally friendly PRM control measures including an acaricide consisting of synthetic silica, clove extracts, garlic extracts, and a probiotic solution were evaluated, comparing them to a combined treatment using the chemical acaricides. Each agent was tested in vitro using two approaches, in which PRMs were either added to environments containing acaricide, or sprayed in situ. Within 10 hours of inoculation, all the environmentally friendly acaricides except for the probiotic solution killed or rendered immotile significantly more mites than the control, normal saline (p < 0.05). The performance of the environmentally friendly acaricides, except for synthetic silica, was significantly weaker than that of commercial chemical acaricides. (p < 0.05). Further tests to determine the optimal concentration of amorphous synthetic silica agent for complete PRM control found this to be 400 g/L. PRM motility following treatment showed the same pattern: the synthetic silica agent and chemical acaricide killed mites, while application of other environmentally friendly agents resulted in living, but immotile, insects, or those with reduced motility. As a result, these environmentally friendly acaricides, especially the synthetic silica agent, could be used as alternatives to chemical acaricides for PRM control.

<P>We measured the absolute frequency of the optical clock transition <SUP>1</SUP>S<SUB>0</SUB>(<I>F</I> = 1/2)–<SUP>3</SUP>P<SUB>0</SUB>(<I>F</I> = 1/2) of <SUP>171</SUP>Yb atoms confined in a one-dimensional optical lattice and it was determined to be 518 295 836 590 863.5(8.1) Hz. The frequency was measured against Terrestrial Time (TT; the SI second on the geoid) using an optical frequency comb of which the frequency was phase-locked to an H-maser as a flywheel oscillator traceable to TT. The magic wavelength was also measured as 394 798.48(79) GHz. The results are in good agreement with two previous measurements of other institutes within the specified uncertainty of this work.</P>

The noise embedded in the raw data in one scientific discipline has sometimes been proven to be a valuable signal for another discipline, and there are examples throughout science history. The solar images taken by the solid state detectors (CCDs) of the Sun monitoring satellites are usually cleaned by removing the traces of cosmic rays on the raw CCD data files. Thus, while applying the method of removing the cosmic ray traces, we may be able to estimate the cosmic ray flux by counting the number of traces. The net cosmic ray flux is the sum of galactic cosmic rays and solar-originating particles. The latter are seen as highly transient flux changes related to solar eruptions. We can identify this kind of cosmic ray event from the association with phenomena revealed in processed solar images, and we show this using the data of SOHO/extreme ultraviolet imaging telescope (EIT). On the other hand, the estimated cosmic ray flux in the steady state is anticorrelated with solar cycle sunspot number. The profiles of estimated solar cosmic ray flux showing significant increase are found to be strongly correlated with the ground neutron monitor ground level enhancements. Additionally, the profile of estimated cosmic ray flux is consistent with that of the GOES P6 channel. It indicates that the particles with energy higher than 80 MeV may mainly produce the tracks on CCD of EIT.
