      • Energy Efficient Strategies with Mobile Sink for WSNs : A Survey

        Feng Ruan,Zhiyong Fan,Yiguang Gong,Jianmin Hou,Ping Mei,Tao Li 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.9 No.8

Sink mobility has been widely used to reduce the energy consumption of sensor nodes, which can prolong the lifetime of nodes in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Researchers found that sink mobility can improve the stability, throughput and lifetime of the very large-scale WSNs. However, sink mobility also causes issues such as data latency and communication overhead. With these properties sink mobility remains more research efforts under different requirements. In this paper we present a survey of energy efficient strategies in WSNs with mobile sink. Firstly, we investigate the existing issues in WSNs. Then we focus on the problem of energy efficient data gathering strategy with mobile sink and present some existing solutions. Finally, we conclude this paper with some potential extensions which need to be further explored.

      • Security Architecture and Requirements for Wireless Sensor Networks

        Yiguang Gong,Feng Ruan,Zhiyong Fan,Jianmin Hou,Ping Mei,Tao Li 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.8

Recently, with the wider application and development of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), security issues become essential for many sensor network applications including environment monitoring, traffic controlling, military sensing, patient status monitoring and so on. In this paper, we summarize the security architecture and requirements, enumerate attacks and countermeasures in wireless sensor networks. In addition, we also summarize key management and introduce several typical key management methods. Which benefit researchers greatly to realizing the situation and trend of state-of-the-art of wireless sensor networks security.

miR-143 inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis of mammary epithelial cells in dairy goat

        Zhibin Ji,Guizhi Wang,Lei Hou,Zhaohua Liu,Jianmin Wang,Tianle Chao 한국통합생물학회 2016 Animal cells and systems Vol.20 No.2

MicroRNAs are a class of post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression in multicellular organisms, which play important roles in cell fate, organ morphogenesis and carcinogenesis. In the present study, we demonstrated the critical roles of miR-143 on mammary epithelial cells of dairy goat. The test results of cell count, methylthiazolyldiphenyl-tetrazolium bromide, Hoechst33342/PI (propidium iodide) and flow cytometry showed miR-143-induced G0/G1 phase arrest, inhibited proliferation and promoted apoptosis of mammary epithelial cells; the qRT-PCR test of marker genes related to cell proliferation and apoptosis, BAX and BCL-2, supported the same conclusions. Our study presents evidence that miR-143 is an important post-transcription regulator involving in mammary cells survival, and it may have a value function in mammary gland development, lactation or involution.

Identification a novel de novo RUNX2 frameshift mutation associated with cleidocranial dysplasia

        Gong Lei,Odilov Bekzod,Han Feng,Liu Fuqiang,Sun Yujing,Zhang Ningxin,Zuo Xiaolin,Yang Jiaojiao,Wang Shouyu,Hou Xinguo,Ren Jianmin 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.6

Background: Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a rare genetic disorder affecting bone and cartilage development. Clinical features of CCD comprise short stature, delayed ossification of craniofacial structures with numerous Wormian bones, underdeveloped or aplastic clavicles and multiple dental anomalies. Several studies have revealed that CCD development is strongly linked with different mutations in runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) gene. Objective: Identification and functional characterization of RUNX2 mutation associated with CCD. Methods: We performed genetic testing of a patient with CCD using whole exome sequencing and found a novel RUNX2 frameshift mutation: c.1550delT in a sporadic case. We also compared the functional activity of the mutant and wild-type RUNX2 through immunofluorescence microscopy and osteocalcin promoter luciferase assay. Results: We found a novel RUNX2 frameshift mutation, c.1550delT (p.Trp518Glyfs*60). Both mutant RUNX2 and wild-type RUNX2 protein were similarly confined in the nuclei. The novel mutation caused abrogative transactivation activity of RUNX2 on osteocalcin promoter. Conclusions: We explored a novel RUNX2 deletion/frameshift mutation in a sporadic CCD patient. This finding suggests that the VWRPY domain may play a key role in RUNX2 transactivation ability.
