      • Medical Alert System Using Fall Detection Algorithm on Smartphone

Irwan,Benfano Soewito 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.9 No.1

The purpose of this paper was designing a fall detection algorithm as a solution so victims who are unable to move after accident could get help. Data were gathered by experimenting using accelerometer to find standby threshold and fall threshold. Data for standby threshold were processed by calculating all the differences and thus use the maximum difference for a threshold. Data for fall threshold were also processed by calculating all the differences and thus use the minimum difference from activities that were ended with a fall. Those thresholds were implemented into prototype application and tested again to find its accuracy. Results were 1 on sensitivity and 0.96 on specificity. It could be concluded that this fall detection algorithm has a 0.98 on its accuracy.

Isogeometric Collocation Method to solve the strong form equation of UI-RM Plate Theory

Irwan Katili,Ricky Aristio,Samuel Budhi Setyanto 국제구조공학회 2020 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.76 No.4

This work presents the formulation of the isogeometric collocation method to solve the strong form equation of a unified and integrated approach of Reissner Mindlin plate theory (UI-RM). In this plate theory model, the total displacement is expressed in terms of bending and shear displacements. Rotations, curvatures, and shear strains are represented as the first, the second, and the third derivatives of the bending displacement, respectively. The proposed formulation is free from shear locking in the Kirchhoff limit and is equally applicable to thin and thick plates. The displacement field is approximated using the B-splines functions, and the strong form equation of the fourth-order is solved using the collocation approach. The convergence properties and accuracy are demonstrated with square plate problems of thin and thick plates with different boundary conditions. Two approaches are used for convergence tests, e.g., increasing the polynomial degree (NELT = 1×1 with p = 4, 5, 6, 7) and increasing the number of element (NELT = 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, 4×4 with p = 4) with the number of control variable (NCV) is used as a comparable equivalent variable. Compared with DKMQ element of a 64×64 mesh as the reference for all L/h, the problem analysis with isogeometric collocation on UI-RM plate theory exhibits satisfying results.

Fatigue characteristics of dual-phase steel sheets

Irwan Herman Onn,Norhayati Ahmad,Mohd Nasir Tamin 대한기계학회 2015 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.29 No.1

Fatigue characteristics of dual-phase steel sheets, commonly used in automobile body construction were established. For this purpose,a series of fatigue tests, each at constant stress amplitude were conducted on 1.2 mm-thick, dual-phase DP600 steel sheet specimens withtwo different load ratios of minimum-to-maximum stress, R = 0.1 and -1. The resulting fatigue behavior is expressed in terms of fatiguestrength-life (S-N) curves. Fatigue behavior of the steel sheets in the high-cycle fatigue region can be represented by Basquin’s equationwith coefficient and exponent value of 921.2 and 0.093, respectively. An endurance limit of 255 MPa is observed. In addition, fatiguestrengths of the dual-phase steel sheets display lower magnitude than their bulk counterparts. Effect of mean stress on fatigue behavior ofthe steel sheets is well predicted by Walker’s model. Exponential calibration factor is introduced to the models by SWT, Goodman andMorrow with comparable prediction to the Walker’s model.

An improved incompatible DST element using free formulation approach

Irwan Katili 국제구조공학회 2021 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.79 No.1

This study proposes DSTK, a new incompatible triangular element formulated from a combination of discrete shear constraints, independent transverse shear strains and a free formulation approach. DSTK takes into account transverse shear effects and is valid for thin and thick plates. Furthermore, this element has 3 nodes and 3 DOFs per node (transverse displacement w and rotations x and y). The couple between lower order and higher order bending energy is assumed to be zero to fulfil the constant bending patch test. Unifying and integrating kinematic relationship, constitutive law, and equilibrium equations contribute to the independent transverse shear strain expression, which comprises merely the second derivatives of the rotations. The study performs validation based on individual element tests, patch tests, and convergence tests. This study shows that the DSTK element yields good results of various classical benchmark tests for thin to thick plates.

An improved incompatible DSQ element using free formulation approach

Irwan Katili 국제구조공학회 2021 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.78 No.6

A formulation of a quadratic incompatible quadrilateral element, called DSQK, using a combination of free formulation approach, independent transverse shear strains, and discrete shear constraints, is described in this paper. This new element, which includes transverse shear effects and is valid for thin and thick plates, has 4 nodes and 3 DOFs per node (transverse displacement w and rotations x and y at the corner nodes). The couple between lower order and higher order bending energy is assumed to be zero in the DSQK element to fulfill the constant bending patch test. The independent transverse shear strain is expressed only by second derivatives of the rotations obtained from a unified and integrated kinematic relationship, constitutive law, and equilibrium equations. The validation based on individual element tests, patch tests, and convergence tests deliver good results for thin to thick plates of various geometries.

Effects of Work Motivation and Leadership toward Work Satisfaction and Employee Performance: Evidence from Indonesia

PANCASILA, Irwan,HARYONO, Siswoyo,SULISTYO, Beni Agus Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.6

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of work motivation and leadership on job satisfaction and its implications on employee performance. A total of 355 samples of Bukit Asam Coal Mining Company Ltd. in Indonesia were selected proportionally with random sampling. Data were obtained through questionnaires. Data analysis technique employed structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS 22. The results of the study show that leadership and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Leadership has a more considerable influence (0.263) than work motivation (0.171) toward employee job satisfaction. The influence of leadership towards job performance is 0.175. The influence of work motivation towards job performance is 0.166. Job satisfaction has the most dominant influence (0.363) towards employee performance. The direct effect of leadership on employee performance is 0.175 greater than the indirect influence of leadership on employee performance through employee job satisfaction, which is only 0.096. Likewise, the direct effect of work motivation towards employee performance is 0.166 greater than the indirect effect of work motivation towards employee performance through employee job satisfaction, which is only 0.062. Thus, job satisfaction does not mediate the effects of leadership and work motivation toward employee performance.

      • The Use of Total Quality Management to Improve Halal Industry

( Athirah Irwan ),김계수,( Syazwan Roslan ) 한국품질경영학회 2019 한국품질경영학회 학술대회 Vol.2019 No.-

TQM is a management philosophy that seeks to integrate all organizational functions to focus on meeting customer feedback and changes organizational procedure. This concept can be used in varieties of area including the Halal market. Halal products are known to be a good quality product and not only satisfied the Muslim communities but also all customers from various religions. The growth of Halal sector is not only growing among Muslim but also non-Muslims. This growth has allowed many organizations to put effort to establish strategies to be involved in the paradigm of halal industry. With Halal is booming in the market and widely recognized globally, there are several unethical parties that tries to gain profit through it by jeopardizing the halal concept by faking the Halal certificates and logo. Problem occurs when manufacturer does not fully understand the concept of halal and simply putting the halal logos to their product and claiming that the product was halal just to gain profit. Furthermore, problem continue due to lack of effective actions in complaints. This paper will focus of the methods that allow consumers to identify the origin and the authenticity of the halal certificate. By creating a system that will allow users to check the validity of the authenticity of the Halal certification, it will definitely provide confidence to consumer that seek for Halal product and give ‘piece of mind’ to the consumer. With the proposed system, it will result in improvement of customer satisfaction. A feedback system will allow consumer to interact and get feedback effectively from the authorities. In the TQM concept, customers satisfaction is one the main element for the organization to achieve more competitive advantages among its competitors. Positive customer satisfaction will result in customer loyalty. This will ensure that the customers are confident in the product and high chances to repurchase. Furthermore, the proposed method will give solution to the current issue by developing a system that allow user to track the origin of their product.

Evaluation of Megasphaera elsdenii supplementation on rumen fermentation, production performance, carcass traits and health of ruminants: a meta-analysis

        Susanto Irwan,Wiryawan Komang Gede,Suharti Sri,Retnani Yuli,Zahera Rika,Jayanegara Anuraga 아세아·태평양축산학회 2023 Animal Bioscience Vol.36 No.6

Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the use of Megasphaera elsdenii (M. elsdenii) as a probiotic on rumen fermentation, production performance, carcass traits and health of ruminants by integrating data from various related studies using meta-analysis. Methods: A total of 32 studies (consisted of 136 data points) were obtained and integrated into a database. The parameters integrated were fermentation products, rumen microbes, production performance, carcass quality, animal health, blood and urine metabolites. Statistical analysis of the compiled database used a mixed model methodology. Different studies were considered random effects, while M. elsdenii supplementation doses were considered fixed effects. p-values and the Akaike information criterion were employed as model statistics. The model was deemed significant at p<0.05 or had a tendency to be significant when p-value between 0.05<p<0.10. Results: Supplementation with M. elsdenii increased (p<0.05) some proportion of fermented rumen products such as propionate, butyrate, isobutyrate, and valerate, and significantly reduced (p<0.05) lactic acid concentration, acetate proportion, total bacterial population and methane emission. Furthermore, the probiotic supplementation enhanced (p<0.05) livestock production performance, especially in the average daily gain and body condition score. Regarding the carcass quality, hot carcass weight and carcass gain were elevated (p< 0.05) due to the M. elsdenii supplementation. Animal health also showed improvement as indicated by the lower (p<0.05) diarrhoea and bloat incidences as well as the liver abscess. However, M. elsdenii supplementation had negligible effects on blood and urine metabolites of ruminants. Conclusion: Supplementation of M. elsdenii is capable of decreasing ruminal lactic acid concentration, enhancing rumen health, elevating some favourable rumen fermentation products, and in turn, increasing production performance of ruminants.

Micro Account Officer's Performance in New Era: Evidence from Banks in Indonesia

APRIANTORO, Irwan,PUTRAWAN, I. Made,ERYANTO, Henry Korea Distribution Science Association 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.10

Professional micro account officers create top-notch state-owned bank human resources using their knowledge, attitudes, characteristics, and talents. Therefore, it is vital to undertake study to ascertain how the performance of micro account officers will impact the personality and leadership style mediated through motivation. The goal of this study is to identify the mediated role of motivation (MOT) in the relationship between micro account officers' performance (citizenship behavior/CB) and leadership styles (LS) and personalities (BFP). Data was collected from 1.510 micro account officers of banks in Indonesia using the causal survey method to determine their citizenship behavior, leadership styles, personality, and role of motivation. The data collected was analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM), with the result that leadership style, personality, motivation, leadership style, and personality have a significant effect on motivation and citizenship behavior. The interesting findings are related to the role of leadership style, micro account officer's personality, and citizenship behavior mediated by motivation. It was determined that micro account officers' enhanced performance (CB) was assigned by taking into account how their perceived superordinate leadership style, whether transformational direction or reversely by transactional propensity, and features of micro account officer including their personality, which was affected by five factors as well would then be well mediated by motivation.
