Active Front Steering (AFS) system enables vehicle performance to improve directional stability control and driver convenience. AFS system is a complementary system for a front-steered vehicle that adds compensation angle at lower speed or subtracts at higher speed based on vehicle information and performance such as steering wheel angle, vehicle speed, lateral acceleration, yaw rate and road conditions. In this paper, planetary gear type AFS module modeling is used Bond graph method. Variable Gear Ratio(VGR) algorithm is considered vehicle speed and steering wheel angle for driver’s convenience. Active steering is proposed to improve vehicle yaw stability which use PID controller.

<P>Regulation of the formation and function of bone-resorbing osteoclasts (OCs) is a key to understanding the pathogenesis of skeletal disorders. Gene-targeting studies have shown that the RANK signaling pathway plays a critical role in OC differentiation and function. Although pharmaceutical blockade of RANK may be a viable strategy for preventing bone destruction, RANK is implicated in multiple biological processes. Recently, a cytoplasmic motif of RANK was identified that may be specifically involved in OC differentiation. Here, we developed a cell-permeable inhibitor termed the RANK receptor inhibitor (RRI), which targets this motif. The RRI peptide blocked RANKL-induced OC formation from murine bone marrow-derived macrophages. Furthermore, RRI inhibited the resorptive function of OCs and induced OC apoptosis. Treatment with the peptide impaired downstream signaling of RANK linked to Vav3, Rac1, and Cdc42 and resulted in disruptions of the actin cytoskeleton in differentiated OCs. In addition, RRI blocked inflammation-induced bone destruction and protected against ovariectomy-induced bone loss in mice. These data may be useful in the development of selective therapeutic agents for the treatment of osteoporosis and other bone diseases.</P>

This paper presents a control algorithm for a steer-by-wire(SBW) System. In an SBW system in a passenger car. the usual mechanical linkage between the steering wheel and the front wheels is replaced with an electrical connection. An SBW system consists of two parts: the steering wheel system and the front wheel system. This research considers the tie rod actuating type of the front wheel system, in which two independently actuating motors control the front wheels. The steering wheel and front wheel motors are modeled, using the bond graph method for both, but controlled by different means. The steering wheel system control algorithm used a torque map to generate reactive torque and damping. In the development of the tie-rod actuating type SBW system described herein, the Ackerman constraint was used for control of the two motors to improve stability. and maneuverability.

This study proposes a novel design of a hybrid leg-wheel quadruped robot which comprises 2 DOFs (prismatic joint and revolute joint) for leg and one rotational joint for wheel. The robot is able to utilize on rough terrain by conducting walking gait or to drive rapidly on the flat ground via wheels. Firstly, the design of structure and mechanism are illustrated based on analysis of the function and performance requirement. The design indicates that the robot is able to conduct several movement modes to adapt to diverse surfaces. Then, the gait of legged mode is also presented with three supporting legs and one transferring leg. There are totally six motion steps of the walking algorithm for the quadruped robot. Besides, the robot can drive several situations when conducting leg-wheel hybrid mode. The performance for the robot locomotion is validated by using Matlab SimscapeMultibody software. The simulation result indicated that our proposed robot has ability to implement successfully on both flat surface of rough terrain.

Neonatal Respiratory Morbidity in Twins according to Birth Order and Mode of Delivery

Objective: To compare neonatal respiratory morbidity of twins according to birth order related to gestational age and mode of delivery. Methods: We performed the retrospective research of the medical records of 3,224 neonates (1,612 twin pairs) born in a single center from January 2011 to December 2015. Subjects were classified into four gestational age groups: very (<32 weeks), moderate (32-33 weeks), late (34-36 weeks) preterm, and term (≥37 weeks) groups. We investigated clinical characteristics and respiratory morbidity according to birth order related to gestational age group and mode of delivery. Results: We found increased risk of respiratory morbidity in second-born twin than first-born twin (P=0.039). Second-born twin was associated with increased risk of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in late preterm group (odds ratio [OR] 2.8, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.30-5.95), and transient tachypnea of newborn in term group (OR 1.4, 95% CI 1.03-1.81). In vaginal delivery mode, there was no difference of respiratory morbidity between first and second-born twin in each group, but in cases of Cesarean delivery, second-born twin was related with a greater risk of RDS in late preterm group (OR 2.3, 95% CI 1.07-5.09). Birth order and Cesarean section independently increased the risk of RDS (adjusted OR [aOR] 1.69, 95% CI 1.12-2.54; aOR 2.14, 95% CI 1.25-3.66, respectively). Conclusion: Second-born twin and Cesarean delivery are associated with increased risk of RDS, especially in late preterm twins.
