In this article, we consider a proper total coloring distinguishes adjacent vertices by sums, if every two adjacent vertices have different total sum of colors of the edges incident to the vertex and the color of the vertex. Pilsniak and Wozniak [15] first introduced this coloring and made a conjecture that the minimal number of colors need to have a proper total coloring distinguishes adjacent vertices by sums is less than or equal to the maximum degree plus 3. We study proper total colorings distinguishing adjacent vertices by sums of some graphs and their products. We prove that these graphs satisfy the conjecture.
Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Enhances Recovery in Central Cord Syndrome Patients

Objective To investigate the effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on neurological and functional recovery in patients with central cord syndrome (CCS) involving the upper extremities between the treated and non-treated sides of the treated group and whether the outcomes are comparable to that of the untreated control group. Methods Nineteen CCS patients were treated with high-frequency (20 Hz) rTMS over the motor cortex for 5 days. The stimulation side was randomly selected, and all the subjects received conventional occupational therapy during the rTMS-treatment period. Twenty CCS patients who did not receive rTMS were considered as controls. Clinical assessments, including those by the International Standard for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury, the Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test, and the O'Connor Finger Dexterity Test were performed initially and followed up for 1 month after rTMS treatment or 5 weeks after initial assessments. Results The motor scores for upper extremities were increased and the number of improved cases was greater for the treated side in rTMS-treated patients than for the non-treated side in rTMS-treated patients or controls. The improved cases for writing time and score measured on the Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test were also significantly greater in number on the rTMS-treated side compared with the non-treated side and controls. There were no adverse effects during rTMS therapy or the follow-up period. Conclusion The results of the application of high-frequency rTMS treatment to CCS patients suggest that rTMS can enhance the motor recovery and functional fine motor task performance of the upper extremities in such individuals.
Anti-Sexual Violence Movement against Harsh Punishment?

In South Korean society, issues of sexual violence have been socially problematized by the feminist movement. The Korean anti-sexual violence movement has been acknowledged both in and outside the country for establishing legislation in a relatively short amount of time. However, there have been intensive media reports of extreme sex-crimes against children since the mid-2000s. Around these cases, a tendency towards ‘punitivism’ has emerged in public opinion and governmental policies, which includes harsher punishment on particular sex-crime and social segregation of sexual assaulters. Some scholars point out that the tendency towards punitivism was caused by the feminist movement against sexual violence. In the case of the United States, the feminist movement has also been held responsible for the formation and support of a penal trend, especially within the anti-sex trafficking movement and against sexual violence—a phenomenon which has been deemed ‘carceral feminism’. In this context, I examine how Korean feminist organizations against sexual violence have built their strategies and activities in opposition to this recent trend towards punitivism in order to show how the feminist movement against sexual violence interacts with legal institutions in the case of the Republic of Korea. Through a content analysis of documents of feminist organizations against sexual violence, combined with data collected from interviews with activists, I argue that Korean feminist organizations have utilized legal institutions as a tool of their movement in multiple strategies; on the one hand, through legal/systemic activism and cultural activism, and on the other hand, also including efforts for juridical settlement while manifesting their awareness of the risk of punitivism.
HANDWRITTEN HANGUL RECOGNITION MODEL USING MULTI-LABEL CLASSIFICATION

Recently, as deep learning technology has developed, various deep learning tech- nologies have been introduced in handwritten recognition, greatly contributing to performance improvement. The recognition accuracy of handwritten Hangeul recognition has also improved significantly, but prior research has focused on recognizing 520 Hangul characters or 2,350 Hangul characters using SERI95 data or PE92 data. In the past, most of the expressions were possible with 2,350 Hangul characters, but as globalization progresses and information and communication technology develops, there are many cases where various foreign words need to be expressed in Hangul. In this paper, we propose a model that recognizes and combines the consonants, medial vowels, and final consonants of a Korean syllable using a multi-label classi- fication model, and achieves a high recognition accuracy of 98.38% as a result of learning with the public data of Korean handwritten characters, PE92. In addition, this model learned only 2,350 Hangul characters, but can recognize the characters which is not included in the 2,350 Hangul characters

Purpose We retrospectively investigated the characteristics of patients with monosodium urate (MSU) deposits of the hand and wrist on dual-energy CT (DECT) compared to those without. We also attempted to determine the pattern of MSU distribution in DECT. Materials and Methods In total, 93 patients were included who had undergone DECT for evaluation of the hand or wrist pain under the clinical impression of gouty arthritis. The total volume of MSU deposits on DECT was calculated and the pattern of MSU distribution on DECT was analyzed. Also, the level of the serum urate at the time of DECT and the highest level of the serum urate of the patients were obtained from their records and the relationship between MSU and serum urate level was evaluated. Results The range of the volume of MSU deposits on DECT was 0.01–16.11 cm3 (average: 1.07 cm3). The average level of serum urate was significantly higher in the MSU positive group than that in the MSU negative group. MSU deposits were most frequently observed in the wrists followed by fingers and digitorum tendons. Conclusion On DECT, MSU deposits were most frequently detected in the wrist and related with high serum urate level.
EXTENSION OF BLOCK MATRIX REPRESENTATION OF THE GEOMETRIC MEAN

To extend the well-known extremal characterization of the geometric mean of two n × n positive definite matrices A and B, we solve the following problem: $${\max}\{X:X=X^*,\;\(\array{A&V&X\\V&B&W\\X&W&C}\){\geq}0\}$$. We find an explicit expression of the maximum value with respect to the matrix geometric mean of Schur complements.
A STUDY ON PUPIL DETECTION AND TRACKING METHODS BASED ON IMAGE DATA ANALYSIS

In this paper, we will introduce the image processing methods for the remote pupillary light reflex measurement using the video taken by a general smartphone camera with- out a special device such as an infrared camera. We propose an algorithm for estimate the size of the pupil that changes with light using image data analysis without a learning process. In addition, we will introduce the results of visualizing the change in the pupil size by removing noise from the recorded data of the pupil size measured for each frame of the video. We expect that this study will contribute to the construction of an objective indicator for remote pupillary light reflex measurement in the situation where non-face-to-face communication has become common due to COVID-19 and the demand for remote diagnosis is increasing.
