Recently, Yang and Hwang [Int. J. Theor. Phys. 53, 224 (2014)] demonstrated that the scheme to share information via employing discrete algorithm to quantum states presented by Kang and Fang [Commun. Theor. Phys. 55, 239 (2011)] suffers from a major vulnerability allowing an eavesdropper to perform a measurement and resend attack. By introducing an additional checking state framework, the authors have proposed an improved protocol to overcome this weakness. This work calls into question the invoked vulnerability in order to clarify a misinterpretation in the same protocol stages also introduce a possible leakage information strategy, known as a faked state attack, despite the proposed improvement, which means that the same security problem may persist. Finally, an upgrading technic was introduced in order to enhance the security transmission.

This study aimed to investigate the genotoxic and cytotoxic potential of prallethrin in rat bone marrow cells and the protective effect of Origanum majorana L. essential oil (EO). Our results demonstrated that prallethrin at dose 64.0 mg/kg body weight (b.wt.) (1/10 LD50), has a clastogenic/genotoxic potential as shown by the high percentage of chromosomal aberration (CA) and micronucleus (MN) in the bone marrow cells of male rats, whereas the combined treatment of prallethrin and O. majorana EO resulted in the reduction of the CA (54.54%). The combined treatment also reduced the micronuclei formation significantly. In conclusion, prallethrin can be considered clastogenic/genotoxic and may carry a risk to human health. The study revealed the antigenotoxic and anticytotoxic potential of O. majorana EO against prallethrin-induced genotoxic and cytotoxic effects in rat bone marrow cells.

Poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) hydrogels were crosslinked by gamma irradiation to add structure and rigidity, and then rheological and mucoadhesive properties were evaluated. The effects of PVP concentration, radiation dose, and additives, such as poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and glycerol, on rheological properties were investigated. In an oscillatory analysis, an increase in polymer concentrations increased the storage modulus (G') and the loss modulus (G'') but decreased the loss tangent (tan δ < 1). The relationships between G' or G'' and the frequency levelled off at higher frequencies, which is indicative of polymer chain entanglement and network formation. Each of the 6% PVP hydrogels exhibited plastic flow with rheopectic behavior. PVP concentration, radiation dose, and the presence of PEG or glycerol influenced the rheological and mucoadhesive properties of the hydrogels. However, adding acyclovir to the formulation did not have a profound effect on the rheological behavior of the hydrogels. The results suggest that a 3% PVP hydrogel with 1% PEG crosslinked with 20 kGy is the most appropriate hydrogel. The results demonstrated the successful complementary application of oscillatory and flow rheometry to characterize and develop a hydrogel for mucosal drug administration.
