Machine Learning Techniques for Speech Recognition using the Magnitude

Krishnan, C. Gopala,Robinson, Y. Harold,Chilamkurti, Naveen Korea Multimedia Society 2020 The journal of multimedia information system Vol.7 No.1

Machine learning consists of supervised and unsupervised learning among which supervised learning is used for the speech recognition objectives. Supervised learning is the Data mining task of inferring a function from labeled training data. Speech recognition is the current trend that has gained focus over the decades. Most automation technologies use speech and speech recognition for various perspectives. This paper demonstrates an overview of major technological standpoint and gratitude of the elementary development of speech recognition and provides impression method has been developed in every stage of speech recognition using supervised learning. The project will use DNN to recognize speeches using magnitudes with large datasets.

Delay Reduction by Providing Location Based Services using Hybrid Cache in peer to peer Networks

        ( C. Gopala Krishnan ),( A. Rengarajan ),( R. Manikandan ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.6

Now a days, Efficient processing of Broadcast Queries is of critical importance with the ever-increasing deployment and use of mobile technologies. BQs have certain unique characteristics that the traditional spatial query processing in centralized databases does not address. In novel query processing technique, by maintaining high scalability and accuracy, latency is reduced considerably in answering BQs. Novel approach is based on peer-to-peer sharing, which enables us to process queries without delay at a mobile host by using query results cached in its neighboring mobile peers. We design and evaluate cooperative caching techniques to efficiently support data access in ad hoc networks. We first propose two schemes: Cache Data, which caches the data, and Cache Path, which caches the data path. After analyzing the performance of those two schemes, we propose a hybrid approach (Hybrid Cache), which can further improve the performance by taking advantage of Cache Data and Cache Path while avoiding their weaknesses. Cache replacement policies are also studied to further improve the performance. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes can significantly reduce the query delay and message complexity when compared to other caching schemes.

Under- or overpressure: an audit of endotracheal cuff pressure monitoring at the tertiary care center

        Biju Viswambharan,Manjini Jeyaram Kumari,Gopala Krishnan,Lakshmi Ramamoorthy 대한중환자의학회 2021 Acute and Critical Care Vol.36 No.4

Background Mechanical ventilation is a lifesaving intervention for critically ill patients but can produce the major complication of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). Inappropriately inflated endotracheal tubes cause potential harm due to high or low pressure; this can be prevented through monitoring protocols. Methods A cross-sectional study of 348 cuff pressure readings was performed with intubated and mechanically ventilated patients to evaluate the exact proportion of patients in intensive care units (ICUs) where the cuff pressure is optimal and to identify the ICUs where device-based monitoring is available to produce a lower proportion of sub-optimal cuff pressure cases. Every three days, cuff pressure was assessed with a handheld cuff pressure manometer. The corresponding VAP rates of those ICUs were obtained from the hospital infection control department. Results Cuff pressure of 40.2% was the lower cutoff for the high category, that of optimal was 35.3%, and the highest cutoff of sub-optimal was 24.4%. This study also showed ICUs that had cuff pressure monitoring devices and protocols. Active measurement protocols had a higher proportion of optimal cuff pressure (58.5%) and a lower proportion of sub-optimal and high cuff pressure (19.5% and 22.0%) compared to ICUs with no device-based monitoring protocols. Furthermore, the VAP rate of ICUs exhibited a weak positive correlation with sub-optimal cuff pressure. Conclusions Device-based cuff pressure monitoring is essential in maintaining adequate cuff pressure but often is inadequate, resulting in high readings. Therefore, this study suggests that device-based cuff pressure monitoring be practiced.
