      • How do Think the Host and Guest in the Framework of Sustainability

        Mostafa Ghadami,Samira Alizadeh 한국문화관광학회 2011 문화관광연구 Vol.13 No.1

This research investigated the tourism impacts on the city of Chalous and its hinterland as an important destination for inbound and domestic tourism in the north of Iran. Objective and Subjective variables were used and analyzed based on the host and Guest perception and attitude. in addition to that, Carrying Capacity of Destination have been investigated. the results showed that residents of Chalous recognized both negative and positive impacts of tourism on their area. as findings showed the destination’s residents believed that positive impacts of tourism are generally economic but tourism had negative impacts on the environment. Furthermore the level of the carrying capacity of Chalous based on the host attitude, has reached its threshold (especially about second home tourism). the study’s result of the carrying capacity based on the guest attitude shows that it has reached its threshold, too.

The ground response curve of underwater tunnels, excavated in a strain-softening rock mass

        Fahimifar, Ahmad,Ghadami, Hamed,Ahmadvand, Masoud Techno-Press 2015 Geomechanics & engineering Vol.8 No.3

This paper presents an elasto-plastic model for determination of the ground response curve of a circular underwater tunnel excavated in elastic-strain softening rock mass compatible with a nonlinear Hoek-Brown yield criterion. The finite difference method (FDM) was used to propose a new solution to calculate pore water pressure, stress, and strain distributions on periphery of circular tunnels in axisymmetric and plain strain conditions. In the proposed solution, a modified non-radial flow pattern, for the hydraulic analysis, is utilized. To evaluate the effect of gravitational loads and variations of pore water pressure, the equations concerning different directions around the tunnel (crown, wall, and floor) are derived. Regarding the strain-softening behavior of the rock mass, the stepwise method is executed for the plastic zone in which parameters of strength, dilatancy, stresses, strains, and deformation are different from their elasto-plastic boundary values as compared to the tunnel boundary values. Besides, the analytical equations are developed for the elastic zone. The accuracy and application of the proposed method is demonstrated by a number of examples. The results present the effects of seepage body forces, gravitational loads and dilatancy angle on ground response curve appropriately.

      • Investigation on Main Factors in Agricultural Land Use Changes in Touristic Destinations: Noushahr and Chalous Counties as Case Study, Iran

Dr,Mostafa Ghadami,Samira Alizadeh 세계문화관광학회 2021 International Journal of Culture and tourism Resea Vol.14 No.1

The relationship between tourism and agriculture has been a challenging affair in tourism development literature. Nature of relation between these two important sectors varies in two different sides, in which it is conflicting on one side and is exchanging on the other side. Whereas, most of destinations have been faced to rapid growth in the world, hence, adjusting the relationship between these two mentioned sectors from a conflicting situation into a compatible one is counted as a challenge in spatial management and planning. As this is a serious problem in destination areas in the north of Iran, this paper aimed to investigate the nature of relationship between tourism and agriculture and to clarify the effective factors in. A survey analysis is used on statistical population which is consisted of farmers, officers, real estate agents, lawyers in two different areas: plain and mountainous areas of Chaloos and Noushahr counties. Using Path Analysis, the results show, relationship between the two mentioned sectors is winner-loser, conflicting and destructive which has happened because of weaknesses in land use management system, deep weaknesses in agricultural sector and spontaneous growth of real estate agencies activities in the region as well as farmer attitude towards welfare which is not expected to be met by agricultural activity.

      • Economic and Social Impacts Of Tourism Case Study

Naser. Aligholizadeh Firozjaie,Mostafa. Ghadami,Seyed Ali Badri 세계문화관광학회 2008 International Journal of Culture and tourism Resea Vol.1 No.1

Tourism can play an important role in rural areas economical and social development as an efficient vehicle. Nowadays, tourism has been the focus of attention in most of the countries for removing rural areas' economical-social challenges. The aim of the present research is to analyze tourism effects and impacts in rural areas of Noshahr central district in north of Iran The method utilized in this study is descriptive-analytical and the study variables are based related theoretical base and taken from other researchers' findings in other parts of the world andpri-mary field studies performed in area under investigation. The nature of study data are objective and subjective. In this research, 375 household in 26 sample rural areas, has been studied and the findings have been generalized. Parametric and non-parametric statistical tests have been used. The results indicate that tourism bring about positive economical and social effects and impacts including job creation, income increase, knowledge increase, etc. According to these findings, there is a significant correlation between tourism development and above indicators of area under study. Despite positive effects and impacts, mass and spontaneous nature of tourism development in combination with inefficient management, there have also been negative economical, social and environmental effects and impacts. According to spearman correlation test, there is a positive significant correlation between tourism development and negative indicators of economical, social dimensions.

Evaluation of interfacial shear stress in active steel tube-confined concrete columns

Mahdi Nematzadeh,Jaber Ghadami 사단법인 한국계산역학회 2017 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.20 No.4

This paper aims to analytically investigate the effect of shear stress at the concrete-steel interface on the mechanical behavior of the circular steel tube-confined concrete (STCC) stub columns with active and passive confinement subjected to axial compression. Nonlinear 3D finite element models divided into the four groups, i.e. circumferential-grooved, talc-coated, lubricated, and normal groups, with active and passive confinement were developed. An innovative method was used to simulate the actively-confined specimens, and then, the results of the finite element models were compared with those of the experiments previously conducted by the authors. It was revealed that both the predicted peak compressive strength and stress-strain curves have good agreement with the corresponding values measured for the confined columns. Then, the mechanical properties of the active and passive specimens such as the concrete-steel interaction, longitudinal and hoop stresses of the steel tube, confining pressure applied to the concrete core, and compressive stress-strain curves were analyzed. Furthermore, a parametric study was performed to explore the effects of the concrete compressive strength, steel tube diameter-to-wall thickness ratio, and prestressing level on the compressive behavior of the STCC columns. The results indicate that reducing or removing the interfacial shear stress in the active and passive specimens leads to an increase in the hoop stress and confining pressure, while the longitudinal stress along the steel tube height experiences a decrease. Moreover, prestressing via the presented method is capable of improving the compressive behavior of STCC columns.
