      • Cloud-based Energy-Efficiency XMPP Protocol for Mobile Network

        Using the Cloud-based Offloading heartbeat aggregation method can solve the smart mobile terminal bearing the burden of persistent connections. It effectively reduces the heartbeat storm. But with the popularity of MTC (Many-Task Computing), especially in the environment of MMTC (Mobile MTC), using XMPP to communicate cause high energy consumption problem at the same time. The traditional XMPP protocol format already cannot adapt to the high performance transmission under the new environment. This paper is based on the MMTC environment, proposed the new communication method of mobile terminal and cloud with XMPP protocol to achieve more energy efficiency.

      • Multiple Framework QoE Model based Energy Efficient Transmission Strategy in LTE Networks

        Wireless technology is continuously evolving, and the development of new versions of adaptive protocols and mechanisms are at their peak to achieve high performance in network-based applications and services. LTE networks offer broadband wireless access to users who can benefit from high data rate applications such as video streaming. However, the high energy consumption of these applications has not been considered. The end user quality of experience (QoE) of video delivery over a radio network is mainly influenced by the radio parameters in the radio access network. This paper will present a multiple framework QoE model for video delivery over LTE, denoted as MQoE that measures the overall perceived quality of mobile video delivery from subjective user experience and objective system performance. We propose a QoE-based energy efficient mechanism to reduce smartphones’ power consumption. We have done a series of experiments to verify the efficiency of this model. Experiment results show that MQoE has significant improvement at energy efficiency

      • Study of Topology Optimization Algorithm of Wireless Mesh Backbone Networks based on Directional Antenna

        In order to improve serious signal interference and energy consumption of wire mesh backbone network due to omni-directional antenna communication mechanism, a topology control optimization algorithm in wireless mesh backbone networks based on directional antenna is proposed. At first, this algorithm used Delaunay graph model to quickly find gateway node by position information of network nodes. Then, in view of the relationship between network transmission distance and the node degrees, it optimizes the network topology structure and lines. In order to improve the transmission rate of wireless mesh network and solve new interference and energy loss problem after adjusting Delaunay graph to achieve a gateway deployment of wireless mesh network using directional antenna, the algorithm reduces wireless links that the transmission distance is too long and energy consumption is higher, and defines the upper limit of the number of directional antenna on routing nodes. The simulation results show that this algorithm can minimize the number of gateway and the shorten network transmission distance from route node to gateway node. This algorithm can effectively decrease the deployment cost and interference by using less antennas and promote the network performance at the same time.
