Mental Health and Related Factors of Adolescent Students During Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic

        Tiange Lu,Yao Yu,Zhonghui Zhao,Rongjuan Guo 대한신경정신의학회 2022 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.19 No.1

Objective Adolescents are at a special stage of physical and mental development, which is a susceptible period for mental disorders. Since the outbreak of coronavirus pneumonia in December 2019, long term stress may have negative effects on the mental health of the adolescents. In the context of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the study was designed to investigate the mental and psychological health of adolescents in China and its possible related factors. Methods A cross-sectional study design was adopted using a structured questionnaire which were distributed through the Internet to measure depression, anxiety, life events and stress related factors. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analyses were conducted to process the data. Results The final sample comprised 795 adolescents. The total detection rate of depression was 76.48% and the total detection rate of anxiety was 33.08%. ANOVA showed that there were significant differences in depression scores in terms of gender, anxiety scores, history of mental disorders, COVID-19 knowledge reserve, family and social contradictions (p<0.05). And there were significant differences in anxiety scores in terms of gender, depression scores, mental health knowledge reserves, family and social contradictions (p<0.05). Multiple regression analysis showed that anxiety score, health status and COVID-19 knowledge reserve were positively associated with depression score (p<0.01), and history of psychosocial disorders was negatively associated with depression score (p<0.05); depression score, family and social contradictions were significantly positively correlated with anxiety score (p<0.01), and history of mental disorders was significantly negatively correlated with SDS score (p<0.01). Conclusion During the outbreak of COVID-19, adolescent students with better understanding of the pandemic, more complete knowledge of mental health, and better family and social relationship had less impact on their mental health. Therefore, to ensure a sound social support system, elaborate health instruction, and family communication and mutual understanding are conducive to alleviating the psychological stress caused by the epidemic, and it is positive for adolescent students to maintain a good mental health.

External Counterpulsation Reduces Beat-to-Beat Blood Pressure Variability When Augmenting Blood Pressure and Cerebral Blood Flow in Ischemic Stroke

        Ge Tian,Li Xiong,Wenhua Lin,Jinghao Han,Xiang-Yan Chen,Thomas Wai Hong Leung,Yannie Oi Yan Soo,Lawrence Ka Sing Wong 대한신경과학회 2016 Journal of Clinical Neurology Vol.12 No.3

Background and PurposezzExternal counterpulsation (ECP) is a noninvasive method used to enhance cerebral perfusion by elevating the blood pressure in ischemic stroke. However, the response of the beat-to-beat blood pressure variability (BPV) in ischemic stroke patients during ECP remains unknown. MethodszzWe enrolled recent ischemic stroke patients and healthy controls. Changes in the blood fow velocities in bilateral middle cerebral arteries and the continuous beat-to-beat blood pressure before, during, and afer ECP were monitored. Power spectral analysis revealed that the BPV included oscillations at very low frequency (VLF; <0.04 Hz), low frequency (LF; 0.04– 0.15 Hz), and high frequency (HF; 0.15–0.40 Hz), and the total power spectral density (TP; <0.40 Hz) and LF/HF ratio were calculated. ResultszzWe found that ECP signifcantly increased the systolic and diastolic blood pressures in both stroke patients and controls. ECP decreased markedly the systolic and diastolic BPVs at VLF and LF and the TP, and the diastolic BPV at HF when compared with baseline. Te decreases in diastolic and systolic BPV reached 37.56% and 23.20%, respectively, at VLF, 21.15% and 12.19% at LF, 8.76% and 16.59% at HF, and 31.92% and 23.62% for the total TP in stroke patients, which did not difer from those in healthy controls. Te change in fow velocity on the contralateral side was positively correlated with the total TP systolic BPV change induced by ECP (r=0.312, p=0.035). ConclusionszzECP reduces the beat-to-beat BPV when increasing the blood pressure and cerebral blood fow velocity in ischemic stroke patients. ECP might be able to improve the clinical outcome by decreasing the beat-to-beat BPV in stroke patients, and this should be explored further in future studies.

      • 组织伦理视角下的企当员行为研究

        葛金田(Ge jin tian),李成江(Li cheng jiang) 실천경영학회 2009 실천경영연구 Vol.4 No.1

The behavior ethics of employees’ is determinants for employees individual goals and organizational goals to achieve unity; it determines in a greater extent which degree employees give affort and achieve client's expectations. Employees’ accountability behaviors is contextual condition to make ethical decisions. In the internal relationship between employees’ accountability behaviors and their ethical decision-making, intensity of the external network relationship and employees’ internal perception of the role are the basic driving force for them to make ethical decisions by using accountability; employees’ differences in individual characteristics and moral strength play a role of adjustment in the process. Employees' ethical behaviors under the context of accountability produce effects for organizational results in two levels: results-oriented and relationship-oriented.

      • Occupational Cooking and Risk of Uveal Melanoma: a Meta-analysis

        Ge, Yi-Rui,Tian, Nong,Lu, Yan,Wu, Yong,Hu, Qin-Rui,Huang, Zheng-Ping Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.10

Background: Many observational studies have assessed the possible association between occupational cooking and uveal melanoma risk, but reported results are controversial. Our goal was to evaluate the association between occupational cooking and uveal melanoma risk by conducting a meta-analysis of observational studies. Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science were searched through June 2012 to identify all eligible studies. The pooled odds ratio (OR) with its 95% confidence interval (95%CI) was used to evaluate this association. Either a fixed- or a random-effects model were used to calculate pooled ORs. Results: Five case-control studies involving a total of 1,199 cases and 6,927 controls were included in the meta-analysis. Overall, occupational cooking was associated with an increased risk of uveal melanoma (OR: 1.81, 95%CI 1.33-2.46, P < 0.001). Subgroup analysis by gender suggested occupational cooking was associated with increased risk of uveal melanoma in both men (OR: 2.16, 95%CI 1.06-4.40, P = 0.034) and women (OR: 1.92, 95%CI 1.19-3.10, P = 0.008). Conclusion: This meta-analysis suggests that occupational cooking is associated with an increased risk of uveal melanoma in both men and women.

Photodegradation of formaldehyde by activated carbon loading TiO2 synthesized via microwave irradiation

        Fei Tian,Zhansheng Wu,Yujun Yan,Xinyu Ge,Yanbin Tong 한국화학공학회 2015 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.32 No.7

A microwave-assisted synthetic method to form a series of AC/TiO2 for application as photocatalytic degradation of formaldehyde (HCHO) is presented. The influence of prepared conditions such as microwave power, microwave time, and the ratio of activated carbon and titanium dioxide sol (AC/TiO2-sel) on the degradation of HCHO was investigated. HCHO conversion of 58.68% was achieved by AC/TiO2 at microwave power of 700W for 15 min with AC/TiO2-sel ratio of 1 : 2, which maintained multiple properties including high content of anatase and TiO2 largely distributed on AC without reunion, and possessed abundant functional groups for degradation. The influence of operation parameters on the degradation was also investigated: increasing dosage of catalyst and decreasing the initial concentration of HCHO could increase the conversion of HCHO. Acidic conditions can promote degradation effect. Stronger intensity of UV irradiating could improve efficiency of photocatalytic conversion of HCHO.

Injectable Hydrogels with Near-Infrared Controlled Drug Delivery for In Situ Photothermal/Endocrine Synergistic Endometriosis Therapy

        Wei Tian,Chenyu Wang,Ran Chu,Haiyan Ge,Xiao Sun,Mingjiang Li 한국생체재료학회 2023 생체재료학회지 Vol.27 No.00

Background Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease in women of childbearing age. Commonly used treatment methods, such as endocrine and surgical therapies, display poor therapeutic effects with a high relapse probability. Thus, novel treatments for endometriosis are required. Methods In our study, polydopamine (PDA), letrozole (LTZ), and agarose (AG) hydrogels were combined to construct an injectable hydrogel with near-infrared controlled drug delivery named LTZ-PDA@AG hydrogel for endometriosis treatment. The release of letrozole can be accurately controlled by the near-infrared light intensity, exposure duration, polydopamine concentration, and hydrogel composition. Meanwhile, we isolated endometrial stromal cells from endometrium in patients with endometriosis, and constructed the rats’ model of endometriosis to verify the biological effects of LTZ-PDA@AG hydrogel. Results Owing to the sufficiently deep penetration of near-infrared light, the LTZ-PDA@AG hydrogel displayed a high temperature increase for efficient photothermal therapy. In addition, high local temperatures can further enhance the diffusion and penetration of letrozole, thereby achieving excellent therapeutic effect in vivo. Importantly, the in vivo and vitro test demonstrated the capacity of the nanocomposite hydrogel for endocrine-photothermal synergistic therapy and the biocompatibility. Conclusion Our work proposes a novel concept for precision endometriosis therapy by photothermal-enhanced endocrine therapy for endometriosis, which is proposed for the first time for the treatment of endometriosis and demonstrates excellent potential for further clinical translation.
