Most of logistics activities increase the efficiency of production and distribution. As a hub function of logistics, Korea government plans to launch Inland Container Depot(ICD). There are lots of criteria and schemes to decide hub-and-spoke locations. In this paper a facility location problem is introduced, and the solution methodology of Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) is used. We investigated some important attributes for deciding logistics facilities.
Quasi Assignment Algorithms in Job Shops

Production scheduling has been one of the most critical issues in a manufacturing environment. Job-shop scheduling problems(JSP) are well known from the standpoint of production planning and operations control. In this research scheduling against due date is a measure of performance and the objective is minimizing total weighted tardiness. This paper presents an idea of decomposition of the problem and shows robustness of the schedule under various disturbances along with exact and approximation methods. The proposed method can indeed handle shop disturbances more effectively when compared with traditional and dynamic scheduling methods.
Carrier Tracking and Tracing System using Low Earth Orbit

The purpose of carrier tracking and tracing is to achieve more information over shipments via carrying in mobile business. At multimodes, especially consignor wants to be aware of the exact situation and position of goods. As an innovative business model, we present CGPS(Carrier Global Positioning System) scheme using LEO(Low Earth Orbital) satellite. The LEO collects the data periodically and sends to the web server, and eventually customer's PC or PDA. This provides shipping company or freight forwarder with more robust information such as door status, container inside condition, etc.
