        The essence of sportsmanship as applied to athletics can be determined by the application of the same principle. Honorable victory is the goal of the athlete and, as a reretended to a certain moral relevancy, although its precise place among the moral virtues has been uncertain. In spite of this confusion, distinguished advsult, the code of the athlete demands that nothing be done before, during, or after the contest to cheapen or otherwise detract from such a victory. Fairness or fair play, the pivotal virtue in athletics, emphasizes the need for an impartial and equal application of the rules if the victory is to signify, as it should, athletic excellence. Modesty victory and a quiet composure in defeat testify to an admirable and extraordinary self-control and, in general, dignify and enhance the goal of the athlete.

      • 공작기계 주축용 베어링 결함 자동진단시스템의 개발

        This paper deal with a method of detecting localized defects on taper roller bearing in main spindle of machine tool system. The statistical parameters in time-domain signal processing techniques have been calculated to extract useful features from bearing vibration signals. Emloying these features, the statiscical parameters have been established to detect defects on the rollers of bearings, respectively, and used by the input feature of an artificial neural nerwork. As a result that the proposed bearing defects monitoring system could be successfully performed by using the statistical parameters of acceleration signals.

      • 보디빌딩 선수들의 筋力과 心肺機能에 관한 硏究

        The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of Strength and cardiorespiratory function of man bodybuilders. Athletes group was that ten bodybuilders of J University in Seoul and Non-Athletes group was that ten male students of J University did not especially player activity. Bodybuilders career was about four years. The result of statistics data were as follows; 1. Comparison of Strength Back strength showed significant difference (p<0.001) between groups. Grip strength. Bench press and Squat showed significant diffence (p<0.001) between groups. 2. Comparison of Body weight, Hearrt Rate., HR max, VE max, VO_2 max, and O_2 pulse. Body weight and rest heart rate showed significant difference (p<0.01) between groups and VO_2 max showed significant difference (p<0.001) between groups. But O_2 pulse showed significant difference (p<0.001) between groups. 3. Comparison of Blood pressure During rest systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure did not showed significant difference between groups. During exercise systolic blood pressure showed sihnificant difference (p<0.001) but during exercise diastolic blood pressure did not showed between groups.

      • 切削狀態認識用 In-process Sensor에 關한 硏究 (Ⅰ)

        In order to develop on-line tool wear sensors, cutting experiments were carried out with pneumatic sensor. In this experiment, the distance between the nozzle and the machined surface was measured by the sensor, and the nozzle was equipped in the cutting tool(tool holder). Air is forced out through onto the freshly machined surface. During machine run, back pressure is monitored whith indicates the distance from the cutting tool to the machined surface. The results are summerized as follows; 1) Clearance angle of toolholder was affected on back pressure, therefore to get the best results, small angle should be provided, if possible, high pressure air should be supplied. 2) Since back pressure was varied considerable with workpiece diameter, it is necessary to have some means of maintaining constant back pressure. 3) The cutting speed was not affected on the pneumatic sensor. 4) The results of these experiment indicate the possibility of developing on-ling tool wear sensor.

      • 남극지역의 대기오염 측정체계 구축을 위한 기초조사

        From January through February 2000, the SO_2. NO_2, and VOCs (Volatile organic compounds) concentrations were measured at the total 15 sites (between 6213S and 6214S, between 5846W and 5848W) around the King Sejong Station located in King George Island. The badge type of SO_2 and NO_2 passive diffusion samplers impregnated with 5% Na_2CO_3 and TEA, respectively and VOC passive samplers including activated carbon filter were used. The samplers brought back to the laboratory were analyzed with IC or GC after extracting by distilled pure water, H_2O_2, or CS_2. Considering that the concentration level of each compound analyzed are very low in Antarctica, the blanks and instrumental detection limits were also determined. The blanks of SO_2 and NO_2 sampler were found to be 0.63 ppb and 0.49 ppb, respectively. Measured concentrations range from <LOD to 1.58 ppb for NO_2 and from <LOD to 0.44 ppb for SO_2. For ten species of VOCs investigated, on the other hand, most of compounds except for toluene and benzene could not be detected because of extremely low concentrations below the instrumental detection limits. Measured concentrations range from <LOD to 0.96ppb for toluene and from <LOD to 0.22 ppb for benzene. Although the concentrations of most gaseous contaminants investigated are observed to be very low, our results clearly show that anthropogenic emissions at King Sejong Station affect the concentrations of several of these compounds. The limited but valuable data presented in this study will be helpful to establish the systematic air monitoring system in the near future.

      • TiC 被覆한 SiC纖維(Nicalon)의 알루미늄 基地에 對한 適合性

        The interaction between SiC fiber and coated aluminum layer of commercially available SiC fiber vacuum-deposited by aluminum was studied at temperatures between room temperature and 700℃. In order to suppress the reaction between the SiC fiber and aluminum layer, thermodynamically stale TiC was precoated on the SiC fiber by activated reactive evaporation process prior to aluminum coating and the compatibility of TiC coated SiC fiber with aluminum have been investigated. Then the interaction of the SiC fiber and the coated aluminum layer was also studied between room temperature and 700℃. The fiber coating with TiC is ecpected to be effective for fabricating a sound composite in this system. The fiber coating with TiC is expected to be effective for fabricating a sound composite in this system. The wettability between SiC fiber and liquid aluminum was improved by the TiC coating. Aluminum coated SiC fiber heated at 650℃ was black and brittle, while no black and brittle was TiC and aluminum coated SiC fiber heated at the same temperaturer. It was, therefore, concluded that the TiC pre-coating on the SiC fiber was effective in suppressing the interation of the SiC fiber and the coated aluminum layer.

        Results of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Support before Coronary Reperfusion in Cardiogenic Shock with Acute Myocardial Infarction

        Background: Despite aggressive treatment, the mortality rate of cardiogenic shock with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is high. We performed extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) prior to coronary reperfusion, and evaluated the early clinical results and risk factors. Materials and Methods: From May 2006 to November 2009, we reviewed the medical records of 20 patients in cardiogenic shock with AMI (mean age 67.7±11.7 yrs, M : F 14 : 6). After initially performing ECMO using the CAPIOX emergency bypass system (EBS^ⓇTerumo, Tokyo, Japan), patients underwent coronary reperfusion (coronary artery bypass grafting, 13; percutaneous coronary intervention, 7). Results: All patients were in a cardiogenic shock state, cardiopulmonary resuscitations (CPR) were performed for fourteen patients (mean CPR time 20.8±26.0 min). The mean time from vascular access to the initiation of ECMO was 17.2±9.4 min and mean support time was 3.8±4.0 days. Fourteen patients were able to be weaned from ECMO and ten patients were discharged (mean admission duration 50.1±31.6 days). Patients survived on average 476.6±374.6 days of follow-up. Longer CPR and support time, increased cardiac enzyme, lower ejection fraction, lower albumin, and major complications were the risk factors of mortality (p<0.05). Conclusion: The early application of ECMO prior to coronary reperfusion and control of risk factors allowed for good clinical results in cardiogenic shock with AMI.

        Ga₂O₃와 4H-SiC Vertical DMOSFET 성능 비교

        산화갈륨 (Ga₂O₃)과 탄화규소 (SiC)는 넓은 밴드 갭 (Ga₂O₃-4.8∼4.9 eV, SiC-3.3 eV)과 높은 임계전압을 갖는 물질로서 높은 항복 전압을 허용한다. 수직 DMOSFET 수평구조에 비해 높은 항복전압 특성을 갖기 때문에 고전압 전력소자에 많이 적용되는 구조이다. 본 연구에서는 2차원 소자 시뮬레이션 (2D-Simulation)을 사용하여 Ga₂O₃와 4H-SiC 수직 DMOSFET의 구조를 설계하였으며, 항복전압과 저항이 갖는 trade-off에 관한 파라미터를 분석하여 최적화 설계하였다. 그 결과, 제안된 4H-SiC와 Ga₂O₃ 수직 DMOSFET구조는 각각 ∼1380 V 및 ∼1420 V의 항복 전압을 가지며, 낮은 게이트 전압에서의 Ga₂O₃-DMOSFET이 보다 낮은 온-저항을 갖고 있지만, 게이트 전압이 높으면 4H-SiC-DMOSFET가 보다 낮은 온-저항을 갖을 수 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 적절한 구조와 gate 전압 rating에 따라 소자 구조 및 gate dielectric등에 대한 심화 연구가 요구될 것으로 판단된다. Gallium oxide (Ga₂O₃) and silicon carbide (SiC) are the material with the wide band gap (Ga₂O₃-4.8∼4.9 eV, SiC-3.3 eV). These electronic properties allow high blocking voltage. In this work, we investigated the characteristic of Ga₂O₃ and 4H-SiC vertical depletion-mode metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors. We demonstrated that the blocking voltage and on-resistance of vertical DMOSFET is dependent with structure. The structure of Ga₂O₃ and 4H-SiC vertical DMOSFET was designed by using a 2-dimensional device simulation (ATLAS, Silvaco Inc.). As a result, 4H-SiC and Ga₂O₃ vertical DMOSFET have similar blocking voltage (Ga₂O₃-1380 V, SiC-1420 V) and then when gate voltage is low, Ga₂O₃-DMOSFET has lower on-resistance than 4H-SiC-DMOSFET, however, when gate voltage is high , 4H-SiC-DMOSFET has lower on-resistance than Ga₂O₃-DMOSFET. Therefore, we concluded that the material of power device should be considered by the gate voltage.
