Economic Reliability test plans(ERTP) are proposed considering that the life time of the submitted items follow the Pareto distribution of the second kind. For various specified acceptance number, sample size and producer's risk, a minimum test termination time is obtained. A comparison of proposed plan has been made with the existing plan developed by Aslam et al. (2010). The results are explained by tables and example.

<P>An attribute control chart is developed in this manuscript for the Pareto distribution of second kind under a time truncated life test. We assume that the lifetime of the product of interest follows this distribution with known or unknown shape parameter. The performance evaluation of the proposed control chart is studied using the average run length (ARL). The tables are presented for various values of shape parameter, sample size, specified ARL and shift constants. A simulation study is given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed control chart for monitoring of non-conforming items in the industries.</P>

<P>In this manuscript, a variable sampling decision rule for product acceptance is proposed when the additional or auxiliary information is available for the quality characteristics under study. The auxiliary information is usually correlated with the quality characteristics and so the regression estimator is used to develop the proposed sampling plan. To find the plan parameters, the two-point approach is adopted such that producer's risk and consumer's risk are satisfied. The advantage of the proposed plan is discussed with the usual single plan without auxiliary information. Tables are given for practical uses and explained with the help of industrial examples.</P>

Transmission system has been well studied since long time and power system techniques of distribution system are more or less derived from transmission system. However, unlike transmission systems, many practical issues are encountered in the distribution system. Considerable amount of error is observed in voltage obtained from the Feeder Remote Terminal Units (FRTUs) measured by the pole mounted PTs along the distribution feeder. Load uncertainty is also an issue in distribution system. Further, penetration of Distributed Generators (DGs) creates voltage variations in the system. Hybrid radial/ loop distribution system also make it complicated to handle distribution system. How these constraints to be handled under Distribution Automation (DAS) environment in order to obtain error free voltage is described in this paper and therefore, a new approach of voltage error correction technique has been proposed. The proposed technique utilizes reliable data from substation and the FRTUs installed in DAS. The proposed technique adopts an iterative process for voltage error correction. It has been tested and proved accurate not only for conventional radial systems but also for loop distribution systems.
