Electromagnetic fields of the rectangular waveguide-loaded cavity are calculated using finite element method. Magnetic field vectors are used as vector variables with edge basis functions. The cavity analyzed in this paper is loaded by the rectangular waveguide only ?? mode excited. Also complex reflection coefficients are obtained.

The new formulation of resonance scattering theory (RST) that is based on the product expansion of S-matrix is developed and applied to the scattering problems of manifold model. We can numerically obtain exact amplitude and phase of resonance spectrum in the scattered field by the new formulation. Also in the acoustic field the experiment method, which is called MIIR, have been performed to isolate and identify resonance components from the scattered field. In this paper we apply resonance scattering theory to electromagnetic scattering problem for homogeneous cylinder. We predict scattering spectrum for extracting of dielectric constant using numerical method, namely FDTD for experiment model of MIIR.
X-band 주파수대역에서 동작하는 다이오드 주파수 혼합기 설계 및 제작

In this paper reports on the design and performance of microstrip single balanced diode mixer, using GaAs Schottky diode, at X-band. A single balanced diode mixer is designed and implemented using Harmonic balance simulation(MW-office). The diode model parameters are extracted by SPICE model of diode. The diode impedances for the LO, RF, and IF frequencies and Powers are calculated for diode matching network design. The mixer consists of branch line coupler, Low pass filter and RF&LO choke for bias circuit. The Passive circuits are simulated for accuracy by EM-simulation of MW-office. The Mixer requires 10dBm local oscillator(LO) power without dc bias and achieves a conversion loss of about 7.5dB, 17dB LO-to-RF isolation, 40dB LO-to-IF isolation, 30dB RF-to-IF isolation, and 1.16 LO VSWR.

In the design of microwave circuits with high input frequence, accurate estimates of the capacitance of the structures are important for determining final circuit speeds or functionality. This paper describes to extend the fast algorithm for the capacitance extraction of large three-dimensional object. The triangular meshes are used and refined adaptively in the area where the heavy charges reside in each iterative solving. This technique is applied to the capacitance extraction of a 4×4 conducting bar. The results show fast convergence, and this adaptive technique coupled with the fast algorithm is efficient to reduce the number of elements and computing time with least additionally computational efforts in large three dimensional problems.

In this thesis thy dynamic characteristics of electromagnetic oil pump system are analyzed by axi-symmetric element method and mechanics equation. This requires solving the coupled equation of electromagnetics with mechanics. In the calculation of pump plunger motion, damping and oil pressure are considered. These results can be used for the design of more efficient oil pump system.

Resonance Scattering Theory (RST) that was devised in the acoustic filed offers us an interpretation of the resonance phenomena in the scattered field. Experiments recently carried out in acoustic resonance signal that selective frequency that obtain by resonance scattering theory. Also the RST have been applied to the electromagnetic scattering problems. In this paper, we made an experiment on electromagnetic scattering with the RST.

In this report we developed a high voltage alarm for the safety of workers who check and repair the 154kV power line. This high voltage alarm we developed is attached on workers' helmet and alarms automatically in order to let workers know when workers work over the safety distance near 154kV power line. Until now the exact safety distance hasn't been regulated and high voltage alarm we've been using was for the range of 6∼22.9kV power line. We fabricated this high voltage alarm on the basis of electric density and actual measurement of power line. The experimental result was that high voltage alarm at 66kV power line alarmed near 90cm, at 154kV power line alarmed near 160cm from the line. Accordingly, we developed the new high voltage alarm which is operated in the range of 66∼154kV power line.
Resistive Grounding Technique of Heat Sink for Reducing Radiation Noise

Heat sink has been used to help an electrical device operate in normal temperature condition. But heat sink radiates unwanted electromagnetic wave, which may cause electromagnetic interference problem. A resistance loaded grounding technique is proposed to reduce electromagnetic wave radiation by a heat sink. Numerical simulations are accomplished to find optimal loading resistance. Also electromagnetic fields radiated by from a heat sink are measured and compared with the simulation results. The test results verify the usefulness of the proposed technique.
