This paper presents a technique to achieve a high power density of a 1.8kW low output voltage, high current dc-dc converter for xEV application. Using a GaNbased transistor at 700kHz switching frequency, the size of the passive component can be greatly reduced. The concept of matrix planar transformer with flux cancellation is applied, resulting in a reduction of the transformer size. Topologies evaluation are performed to select the most suitable topology for achieving the size specification, and a phase-shift full-bridge converter with current-doubler rectifier is selected. A 5.63kW/L(92W/in3) power density is achieved. Simulation and experimental results from the proposed converter system prototype are provided.
An Interleaved Single-Stage Bridgeless CCM AC-DC Converter with Wide Output Voltage Range
Adhistira M. Naradhipa,Suhan Kang,Sewan Choi 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
This paper proposes a new interleaved singlestage ac-dc converter that can achieve power factor correction without input current sensing. The converter use a bridgeless structure that can operate in CCM without reverse recovery issue. All switches achieve ZVS turn-on and all diodes achieve ZCS turn-off, which are maintained throughout the whole grid cycle. A SDAB-based modulation strategy is applied which result in simple power control, switching ripple-free input current, open-loop PFC operation and wide-range of output voltage. Experimental results from a proof of concept 2.5-kW, 220Vac, and 200Vdc – 350Vdc prototype are given to verify the working principle and feature of the proposed converter.
