Power system fault analysis is commonly based on well-known symmetrical component method, which describes power system elements by positive, negative and zero sequence impedance. The majority of fault in transmission lines is unbalanced fault, such as line-to-ground faults, so that both positive and zero sequence impedance is required for fault analysis. When unbalanced fault occurs, zero sequence current flows through earth and groundwires in overhead transmission systems and through cable sheaths and earth in underground transmission systems. Since zero sequence current distribution between cable sheath and earth is dependent on both sheath bondings and grounding configurations, care must be taken to calculate zero sequence impedance of underground cable transmission lines. In this paper, EMTP-based sequence impedance calculation method was described and applied to 345㎸ cable transmission systems. Calculation results showed that detailed circuit analysis is desirable to avoid possible errors of sequence impedance calculation resulted from various configuration of cable sheath bonding and grounding in underground cable transmission systems.

Power transformers are applied throughout the power system to connect systems of different voltage to one another. Since a ratio differential relay offers high sensitivity in detection of internal faults in power transformers, it is widely used in the main protection system. The use of nonlinear devices such as rectifiers and other devices utilizing solid state switching have been increased in industry during recent years. For nonlinear loads, the load current is not proportional to the instantaneous voltage. This situation creates harmonic distortion on the system. The harmonic could differential relay misoperation if not recognized. This paper aims at analyzing and probing into the influences of harmonics on a ratio differential relay for power transformer protection.

Power systems becomes more highvoltage and high capacity recently. Power system caused by the accident of insulation breakdown. Excellent power cable is used due to advances in technology, but old cable and damage cable causes a power failure. This paper analyzed partial discharge using pattern analysis method of power cable. The simulation of partial discharge of power cable with defects was analyzed using pattern recognition methods.

Development and use of renewable energy due to environmental problems and depletion of energy affect grid-connected power system around the world. Therefore this paper analyzes the characteristic of gird connected photovoltaic power generation system which it is available to connect the utility. Renewable energy photovoltaic power system has been linked to the system to analyze the impact of photovoltaic system. MATLAB / Simulink program is modeled and analyzed on power quality of a photovoltaic power plant. It is measured that power data for the Grid connected photovoltaic power plant with instantaneous measuring, 3sec measuring, 10min measuring for 7 days. Harmonic field measurement have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. A cumulative probability approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. so, it is used 50[%] cumulative probability approach. This paper provides an in depth analysis on power quality field measurement of the Grid connected photovoltaic power plant.

As automation equipment and electronic device progresses, the importance of power quality is more increasing. This paper represents the analysis and suppression about the causes of trouble by the inverter’s ON/OFF noise in plant in order to prevent damage resulting in a secondary damage to conduct precise diagnosis and effective noise reduction. The countermeasure as a reduced carrier frequency and the LC resonant filter had been applied and confirmed the effective results to solve the trouble of noise.

The photovoltaic power generation is one of the most suitable energy sources in the worldwide as a new and renewable energies for the fossil fuels shortage and global warming. The PV system needs a large area, appropriate module arrangement and sufficient solar radiation to get maximum power generation. In this paper, the optimum installation area size for an inclined fixation photovoltaic system was presented by calculating and simulating the optimum angle of solar radiation and arrangement of PV modules in the economic aspects pursuing the user's maximum profits.

Harmonics of the power quality in systems is growing more and more as a modern industrial society process. Among these harmonics, the problem of dangerous situations is generated especially in the whole system when exists high levels of harmonic. In this paper, we analyzed about type of cause for harmonic on the quality measurements and performed simulation for resolving the problem on ther basic types of filters installation before and after.

The current streetlight system have been tried various attempts. but during maintenance, it has caused the traffic congestion and many risk factors. In addition, maintenance costs are very expensive to manage and the local government have to establish countermeasures about the present condition. If neglected, it may cause a variety of social problems. so, there should be a measure to prevent problems. This rotational and up-and-down type streetlight can be a solution to these factors and it has been highlighted indirectly in terms of green growth because we have to take advantage of the value.
