The purpose of this study is to propose a systematic method which is to improve spot weld durability on the location optimum design through the design of experiments. Firstly, fatigue analysis of subframe spot weld was carried out to choice the targets of location optimization and design variable. And sensitivity analysis applied three-level orthogonal array method was studied to find the optimum design condition. Secondly, after making finite element model by applying the elicited design condition, the fatigue analysis of subframe was carried out to check the life cycle of spot weld. Lastly, reliability about location optimization and analysis result is verified through strain measurement test about spot weld parts of prototype applied the elicited design condition. To proceed this project, Hypermesh, Design Life, strain gauge and EDAQ were used and this study is hoping to be utilized in various fields.
