Native foods in Youngnam area were investigated through correspondence, visit and literature review, and 95 different kinds of native foods are reported. Results indicate that native foods have been losing their local color with the improvement in transportion and the interchange in the place of residence both as a result of the Korean War and the industrial development of the country. The results also showed that the rise and fall of local specialties seem to determine the continuation and decline of native foods. Native foods originate in the characteristic climate of a given place. As we are trying to revive the spirit of Korea in various aspects of our culture, it seems to be desirable that in our dietary life we also should strive to keep our own native foods although we may need to accept the influence of foreign foods to improve our dietary life further.

This study investigated and analyzed food intake of children at breakfast and lunch, children's likes and dislikes with regard to foods, their food allergies, the labor problems of their mothers in home, and the opinion of their mothers and kindergarten managers about providing meals. The survey was conducted with 554 mothers living in Taegu City whose children were in five kindergartens. Results therefrom are as follows: There were many children who didn't eat a normal breakfast. This was due to Korean's habit of eating a light lunch, because of having too many likes and dislikes about what they eat, and finally, because of mother's help in the home. For these reasons, there were many mothers who wanted meals provided at the kindergarten. The kindergarten manager insisted, however, that it is impossible to provide meals because of economic problems. An adequate intake of nutrients exerts a profound influence on the physical and spiritual development of children. Moreover, providing meals in kindergarten is very important when one considers the laborsaving for mothers, the correction of an unbalanced and poor diet, and the favorable emotional effect this service has on children. This study also indicates that it would be better to have fixed dates of the week for providing a lunch at kindergarten and for carrying a lunch from home. To carry out this plan, the children's time at kindergarten would have to be extended by one hour. When one considers the effects that kindergarten education has on the physical and spiritual development of children, it is more desirable for the government to support providing meals at kindergarten.

It was expected that the nutrition of the infants in the period of their exuberant growth greatly influences their physical and mental developments. Therefore this study was designed to compare two parameters of the two groups of kindergarten children; particularly their heights and weights. One group of children was on planned and reasonable schedule of meals, and the other group of children was not. Due to the economical problem, the experimental period could not continue more than one month. However, the result showed that the growth rate was sleightly high in the group of children who were provided with scheduled meals. This result encourages us that the reasonable management of providing meals for the kindergarten and primary school children will be a great help to their physical developments. During the period of experiment, additional study was done on the effect of a parasite and an unbalanced diet.
Paradise Lost에 나타나는 여성성(femininity)의 의미
허필숙 한국밀턴학회 1993 중세근세영문학 Vol.3 No.-
Milton has often been criticized as an advocator of the patriarchal ideology by some militant feminists. Their attack is largely due to his description of Eve as a typical bourgeois housewife in which the femininity as well as her submission to Adam is regarded as the supreme merit of women. The 'femininity' of Eve, however, is not gender-oriented in the text. As clearly manifested in the parallel between the submission of Christ and that of Eve, the 'feminine' submission should be interpreted as the divine power to overcome self-love and various distorted desires. Only then, can Eve achieve such a grandeur of human form divine in which the historical facts of the patriarchal society reveal the religious truths of the Genesis.

This study sets John Marston’s Sophonisba in the context of the Jacobean Witch Craze in early modern England, and focuses on the integral relationship between two seemingly fragmented plots. The pure Sophonisba, in the main-plot, and the degraded witch, Erictho, in the subtext, are curiously linked in Marston’s moral landscape. Sophonisba is exalted as “the wonder of women”, representing the idealized female subject in the patriarchal order, while the monstrosity of the witch exposes the narrowness and fragility of the borders between seemingly the opposed qualities of good and evil, innocence and corruption. Julia Kristeva conceptualized the abject as disgusting and alien substances to be expelled for us to become a proper subject. This study reviews three types of abjection as represented in the play: the witch’s corporeality, her abode and her threat of castration. In conclusion, the witch, as the abject figure, problematizes the established binary opposition in the symbolic order and enables us to fathom Sophonisba’s significant lifelessness. .
