This study is to investigate the dispersion characteristics of diesel fuel spray in the initial stage of the beginning of the injection under the condition of room temperature and atmospheric pressure.<br/> It is difficult to analyse that the diesel fuel spray in diesel engine has unsteady intermittent spray. So auther installed a fuel accumulator and an electromagnetic controller in order to keep the constant fuel injection rate with the time variation. With this modified fuel injection system, spray tip penetration, spray angle and initial spray development process are investigated by instantaneous photographic method.<br/> The results obtained in this study are as follows:<br/> 1) The initial shape of injection of diesel fuel spray shows the form of non-disintegrated intact core, but the formation of ligaments increasingly grows as the time increases. It can also be<br/> shown that fine droplets become disintegrated out from the ligaments.<br/> 2) The slope of spray tip penetration was changed to two different tendencies with time. The transition point of the slope is shown at the time of around between 0.09 msec and 0.4 msec from the beginning of injection. This is transition time from non-disintegrated intact core to formation of ligaments.

In order to estimate the offshore wind resource around Jeju island, the wind data from automatic weather system of meteorological observatories were analyzed statistically. The 4 small islands around Jeju island were selected for this study, whose names are Udo, Marado, Jigwido and Chujado, respectively. The wind data at 70m above ground level were extrapolated from the wind data measured at 10m above ground level, and the average wind speed, the average wind power density and the wind rose were clarified for the small islands. The results show that the sea around the Marado and the Udo cites may be the best place to construct an offshore wind farm, because they have high wind speeds and their prevailing wind directions are identified obviously.

The Performance of in-line duct fan depends on the design parameters of impeller and guide vane. such as sweep back angle of impeller, the number of blades, outlet blade angle, guide vane angle etc. In this experimental study total four kinds of impellers having different sweep back angles, 90°, 72.5°, 55°, 37.5° with 8 guide vanes, different the number of blades, 6ea, 8ea, 10ea, 12ea, different kinds of outlet blade angles, 30˚, 45˚, 60˚ and different kinds of guide vane angles, 15°, 30°, 45° were selected and their performance measured to investigate the effects of them. The results were non-dimensionalized to compare their performance.
Concentration of Diesel Spray Considering Fuel Adhering on a Wall

시간경과에 따른 디젤분무의 농도가 실험적으로 구해졌다. 평판에 부착하는 연료량이 측정되었고, 분무 사진이 고속카메라로 촬영되어 분무체적이 계산되었다. 실제로는 시간에 따른 부착 연료량은 측정할 수 없으므로, 몇 가지 가정이 사용되었다. 그 결과, 연료액막이 성장하는 기간에 보다 많은 연료가 부착하고, 분무체적은 충돌거리가 짧을수록 커진다. 또한 농후한 디젤분무는 평판에 충돌한 후에 희박한 분무가 되었고, 충돌거리가 짧을수록 더 희박한 분무가 되었다.
