        외국인 유학생과 내국인 간의 상호 교류 프로그램 개발 및 적용 - 상호문화 정체성 신장과 지역 사회의 다중문화 공동체 구축을 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to develop and apply exchange programs between foreign students and Koreans. In this study, it was considered that in order to solve the isolation and loneliness experienced by foreign students and to improve Korean language skills for academic purposes, the problem of the community among 5C suggested by ACTFL (1996) should be ultimately solved. As a result of applying the program actually developed for a month, it was possible to confirm that the mutual cultural identity of Koreans and foreign students was expanded through this program. In addition, through this, it was possible to explore the possibility of establishing a multicultural community in which foreign students and Koreans freely communicate in the local community.

        알렌의 『A Language Book of Korean』의 「문장」 연구

        The purpose of this study is to contemplate on the characteristics of chapter 「Sentence」 in A Language Book of Korean written by Allen, Joseon’s first Protestant missionary. Specifically, in this paper, 「Sentence」 was perceived as linguistically having a ‘nature as a Korean grammar textbook,’ and in terms of content, having a ‘nature as a self-record.’ From a linguistic perspective, 「Sentence」 can be seen as a Korean grammar textbook, a kind of an example book to learn structural expressions focusing on example sentences. In order to examine the characteristics as an example book, the overall composition of example sentences was analyzed, and the categories of grammatical expressions presented in the example sentences were analyzed. As a result, it could be seen that the expression of modality was the most frequently dealt with in the examples. The characteristics in terms of content of the example sentences presented in 「Sentence」 was that unlike an example sentence to convey the standard meaning of a grammar item, it had a nature of self-record. In contrast with other literature written by Allen, as a result of analysis of the contents of example sentences as the self-records, records of learning the Korean language, Korean culture, and medical missionary work could be found in the example sentences.

        재미동포 한국어 교육의 방향에 대한 일고찰 -학부모와의 심층 면담을 바탕으로-

        This study aimed to suggest directions for Korean language education for Korean American learners, based on in-depth interviews with their parents. As research subjects, this study selected seven Korean-born parents who live in the United States and have children or adolescents under the age of 19, and conducted one-to-one interviews on their experiences, difficulties and demands regarding Korean language education for their children. The interview results showed that those whose children were preschoolers expressed considerable pressure from Korean language education. There was a wide variation in the educational benefits provided by Korean language institutions, depending on the region, and they showed rather low expectations for the effect of Korean language education. This study found two main demands for Korean language education. One was intensive Korean language training during school vacations, and the other was an immersion course that their children could have a chance to communicate in Korean through the network of their peer group. Based on the interview results, this study proposed developing a Korean language program focusing on bilingual development, supporting an educational system in consideration of dispatching Korean language specialists and rearranging the relevant institutions more efficiently, providing Korean language education as lifelong education leading to adulthood, and connecting Korean language education to global citizenship education and literacy.

        한국 심층 문화 교육을 위한 다중 텍스트 구성 방안 연구

        본 연구의 목적은 심층 문화 교육을 위한 다중 텍스트 구성 방안을제시하는 데 있다. 심층 문화란 사회 구성원의 전 삶의 양식과 태도믿음 가치관 등에 영향을 미치는 사회 구성원들의 정신적인 세계의 경향성을 말한다. 심층 문화는 비가시적인 부분을 다루고 있기때문에 객관적이고 가치중립적으로 다루어져야 한다. 하지만 설명문방식의 단일 텍스트로는 복합적인 특성을 지닌 심층 문화를 객관적으로 보여주기 어렵다. 이에 본고에서는 다중 텍스트가 심층 문화의교수 자료로 활용하기에 적합하다고 보고 심층 문화 교육을 위한다중 텍스트 조직 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 관련 연구를 토대로 심층 문화의 특성을 살펴보고 심층 문화 교육을 위한 텍스트 조직 방안으로 유추 관계, 보완 관계, 갈등 관계, 비교 관계를선정하였다. 또 ‘우리의식’을 중심으로 이에 대한 실례를 제시하였다. 본 연구는 한국 심층 문화 교육을 위한 방안으로 다중 텍스트를사용할 것을 제안하고 구체적인 텍스트 선정 및 조직 방안을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 찾아볼 수 있다. The foreign students studying in Korea have a strongneed of Thought Pattern of Korean People. However, currentKorean Culture textbooks tend to show more on culture thatbased on achievement and behavior. Also it is difficult to show acomplexity of Deep Culture through a single text. Multiple textsare suitable for Deep Culture Education because it can providemore opportunities for students to have a diverse viewpoint ofKorean Deep Culture. Therefore, this paper proposes using ofmultiple texts on Deep Culture Education. To this end, it illuminatesa feature and guides a direction of Deep Culture Education. In addition, it suggests a multiple texts organization method:analogical text, complementary text, conflicting text, comparativetext.

        학문 목적 한국어 학습자의 토론 불안 연구

        This study aims to look into the debate anxiety of academic purpose Korean language learners and suggest ways to assist their debate performance. To achieve its purpose, 44 academic purpose Korean language learners participated in a questionnaire on debate anxiety and perceived obstacles of debate performance. Correlation analysis results revealed that perceived obstacles of debate performance had a significant positive relationship with only cognitive debate anxiety. Next, the participants were divided in two groups consisting of those with high debate anxiety and low debate anxiety. Independent t-tests were performed on each item of perceived obstacles of debate performance inventory. As a result, those with high levels of debate anxiety had a significant difference on 6 items in total: difficulty on understanding others due to vocabulary and grammar issues, obtaining background knowledge related to the topic, providing a reasonable basis for my argument, searching for supportive data that backs up my arguments, challenging the opponent’s argument, and attentively responding to the opponents’ words. Implications and suggestions for practice are discussed.

        KSL 아동의 연결어미 발달 양상 연구

        This study aims at investigating thedevelopment process of connective ending in KSL children. For thispurpose, the journals recording about three KSL for around 17months were collected. As a result, Children overcame the blanksof connective endings in their interlanguage through methods suchas ‘pieces phrases, composing sentences, converting codes, creativecomposition, and replacement’. And even in case of connectiveendings belonging to the category of the same meaning, dependingon individuals, developmental processes were different. Theseresearch results seem to indicate that change of one variable couldcause to change hugely in the system of interlanguage, and it isidentical with the theory of DST arguing that learners’ interlanguagedoes not develop linearly. However, in the analysis of developmentalprocess in macro-perspective, because of characteristics in connectiveendings in Korean language, there are similarities in the same typesof connective endings which had never been created or trying tocreate new connective endings after going through the period ofsilence.

        한국어 초급 아동 학습자의 문어 담화에 나타난 응집성 발달 연구 - 내러티브 작문 과제를 중심으로-

        This study considered discourse cohesion as significant for the literacy development of immigrant children, and examined coherence development through a narrative writing task. The eight children in the study had low level of proficiency in Korean, and experienced difficulty in producing cohesive discourses in Korean. Therefore, 10 lessons using narrative writing tasks were conducted. In this process, a corpus of children’s independent writing tasks was constructed to analyze the interlanguage processes of coherence development. The results showed that at the linguistic level, the use of tubular clauses increased, whereas the use of conjunctions diversified. The children asked each other convergent and divergent questions to engage in mediated thinking, and focused on specific events to construct a cohesive narrative.

        한국어능력시험 듣기 담화의 상황 맥락 연구

        Context of situation is referred to as the totality of extra-linguistic features. As the context of situation has a great impact on developing a discourse, it is impossible to understand discourse properly without understanding the context of situation. According to preceding research, context of situation consists of various components such as the relationship between participants in the conversation, domain of the discourse, purpose and functions of the discourse, topic or subject of the discourse. These components are contributed to the development of discourse contexts. The study aims to analyze different situational contexts represented in the TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean) listening scripts. In addition, the study aims to suggest a framework for systematic design of various contexts of situation. To achieve its purpose, this study attempts to observe different contexts of situations that emerged from the 22nd to 31st TOPIK listening tests in three proficiency levels(beginner, intermediate, advanced). As a result, the scope of situational context is gradually expanded from an beginner level to an advanced level. It is because this expansion of various sub-components synthetically emerged from elementary to advanced levels. In conclusion, the study finds out the process of context of situations that emerge and suggests a framework available in an assessment situation.

        외국인 유학생의 상호문화 역량 연구

        The purpose of this study is to discuss the intercultural competencies of foreign students. The second foreign language class is a multicultural community in which international students from various countries participate. The intercultural competence of foreign students is directly related to the quality of communication in the second foreign language class. In this context, in this study, cross-cultural competence was measured using Potala & Chen's (ICC) scale for foreign students As a result, ‘interaction management’ and ‘interaction relaxation’, which are directly related to macroscopic discourse composition had the highest score. The second highest average score was ‘interaction respect’, ‘interaction relaxation’, ‘Message skills’, ‘behavioral flexibility’, and ‘identity maintenance’ which are related to the microscopic composition of discourse, were among the groups with the lowest average score. Also, There was a significant correlation between ‘interaction relaxation-interaction management’ and ‘message technology-identity maintenance’. These research results suggest that intercultural competency education for foreign students needs to focus on the composition of discourse and language use in intercultural communication beyond understanding other cultures. 이 연구의 목적은 외국인 유학생의 상호문화 역량을 측정하는 데 있다. 제2언어로서의 외국어 교실은 다양한 나라에서 온 유학생들이 모인 작은 다문화 공동체이다. 유학생의 상호문화 역량은 교실에서의 상호작용의 질과 직결된다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구에서는 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 Potala & Chen(2010)의 ICC(Intercultural Communication Competency) 척도를 이용하여 상호문화 역량을 측정하였다. 그 결과, ‘상호 존중’ 구인의 평균 점수가 가장 높았고 거시적 담화 구성과 직접적인 관련이 있는 ‘상호작용 관리’와 ‘상호작용 이완’이 그 다음으로 높았다. 담화의 미시적 구성과 관련이 있는 ‘메시지 기술’, ‘행동 유연성’, 정체성 유지’는 평균 점수가 가장 낮은 그룹에 속했다. 구인 중 ‘상호작용 이완-상호작용 관리’, ‘메시지 기술-정체성 유지’는 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 유학생 대상 상호문화 역량 교육이 문화간 소통에서의 담화 구성 및 언어 사용을 중심으로 이루어져 할 필요가 있다.

        외국인 학부생의 자기조절학습 능력, 사회적 실재감, 교수 실재감이 온라인 수업 만족도에 미치는 영향 연구

        Self-regulated learning ability, social presence, and teaching presence have been widely discussed as prerequisites for successful online classes. There has been, however, little research on foreign undergraduates’ self-regulated learning ability, social presence, and teaching presence, in Korean language education. This study, therefore, aims to examine online class satisfaction of foreign undergraduates and the effects of self-regulated learning ability, social presence, and teaching presence on online class satisfaction. To this end, it was conducted a survey on online class satisfaction of 128 foreign undergraduates. The findings showed that the mean value of all foreign undergraduates’ online class satisfaction was ‘moderate’ (3.16). Next, it was also analyzed the correlation between online class satisfaction and self-regulated learning ability, social presence, and teaching presence. The results of the analysis demonstrated that the self-regulated learning ability, social presence and teaching presence all have close correlations with online class satisfaction. A multiple regression analysis on the relation between the sub-domains of self-regulated learning ability, social presence and teaching presence and online class satisfaction was conducted. Finally, it was found that ‘individual/emotional factors’(No.1) of social presence, ‘class design and organization’(No.2) of teaching presence and ‘task factors’ (No.3) of self-regulated learning ability have direct effects on online class satisfaction.
