EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation), usually, is known as the technique which reduces dramatically the NOx emission from diesel engine. Application of this technique, however, is difficult because it is likely to cause the deterioration in fuel consumption and the increase in PM(Particulate Matter) emission. For the heavy duty diesel engines, especially, trade-off between the PM and NOx formation becomes more severe, as well as may raise the problem in lubricant and durability.<br/> In this study, as the research for the 11,000cc turbocharged diesel engine equipped with an EGR valve and cooler. we predicted the combustion and reduction characteristics of CO, me, NOx with experimntal.<br/> The emission levels of CO, me were substantially increased according to the increase in EGR rate. The reduction rate of NOx increased at the higher load, rather than lower load.

Modern after-treatment technology has been developed variously in order to exhausted emission in diesel engine. However, it seems very difficult to comply wi stringent emission standards. This research is focused on diesel emission charao, poisoning effect on diesel oxidation catalyst when ULSD and Bio-diesel are applied the effect of viscosity according to sulfur content in ULSD is evaluated. In th engine performance before/after equipped DOC in 11,OOOcc diesel engine, the effect power and fuel consumption is negl igible in ULSD or bio-diesel. Recently, our planet faced with very serious problems related to the air pollution and to the lack of energy resources. So, lots of researchers have studied to reduce the exhaust emission of Automobile that influenced the environment strong. Therefore. this paper was studied characteristics of emission performance by variation combustion chamber and PDA valve in single spark ignition engine. These studies in a spark ignition engine is one of the best solution for improvement of fuel economy and reduction of emission level. Two combustion chamber which have slightly different shaper in order to apply on SI single engine to improve combustion and to reduce emission gas. And PDA valve has been used to satisfy the requirements of sufficient swirl generation to improve combustion and performance to effect on flow profile on a combustion chamber. It is forced that injection timing, spark timing and intake air motion govern the stable combustion. Using the results of the test, the effects of the variable combustion chamber and PDA can be improved fuel consumption and be reduced exhaust emission.
