This paper is concerned with the braking distance estimation of tire operated with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). The frictional heat dissipation at disc pad is derived analytically, and the tire frictional energy loss is computed by utilizing the 3-D dynamic rolling analysis of tire. Dynamic rolling analysis during entire braking time period is impratical, so that this study divides the vehicle velocity by 10km/h to reduce the analysis time. The multiplication of the slip rate and the shear stress provides the frictional energy rate. Using frictional energy rate, total braking distance is estimated

These days, the weight lightening is issued for cost decrease and safety of offshore. Helideck, the most important structure of offshore-plant topside, is considered important to weight lightening of topside. Previously, helideck is made by steel material but nowadays the aluminum is being used for manufacturing helideck. Although the material is changed, the software for structural analysis does not exist. Moreover, there is little experience about structural analysis. So, the Helideck has trouble in structural evaluation. In this paper, the structural analysis is performed for aluminum helideck. The study is carried out about the structural evaluation applying the variable loads based on regulation and using structural analysis program and own-development software.

During long-term stay in the offshore plant or ships’ sailors are need fresh water for living (ex. cleaning, boiler feed water, etc) therefor use a fresh water production apparatus from the sea water. The principle of operation is as follows. The sea water is injected to chamber and it boil for change to steam by engine cooling water (70 ~ 80 degrees Celsius) in vacuum environment. The vapor passed through filter for desalinate then it sent to condenser for change to pure water. It will reviewed for this apparatus design stability by thermal-structural coupled field analysis and modal analysis.

Special naval ship equipment should be designed to withstand shock loading caused by non-contact underwater explosion(UNDEX) by torpedoes or mines. To satisfy this requirement, an actual shock test is being performed as detailed in MIL-S-901 or structural analysis technique(BV-043[German Navy regulation], DDAM[USA] etc.) based on M&S is being used where the actual shock test is not applicable and the structures are supported by elastic mount. In this study, stress distribution is reviewed and evaluation of shock resistance characteristics of equipment for a naval ship is performed by using BV-043.

Helideck tiedown for offshore is installed for tieing the helicopter when the helicopter is landed on the helideck. In this paper, the analysis is performed to evaluate the safety of tie-down. First of all, the variable load cases are selected and the analysis is performed based on selected load cases when the tie down and wire connected.

Produced water will be created due to the influx of groundwater or seawater in the production process of crude oil in the FPSO. Before the discharge of produced water to remove the oil and gas through the separated device is essential. In generally for the separate to less than a allowable amount of Hydraulic cyclone applied to remove the oil before discharged. In this study, compared the results to verify the performance of the cyclone various shapes of derive the optimum shape of the oil separation in the cyclone, using the CFD.

Since the pipes used in drilling must not be separated during the drilling process, it should be strongly fastened with the large torque. The torque-machine is used for clamping and loosing pipes used in drilling. In this study, structure analysis is performed about principal components of torque machine, the pipe clamping process is established and the simulation model for clamping process is built through the rigid multi-body dynamics analysis.
