Electricity is the prime commodity in mobile device, e.g. smart phone, PDA, MP3 player and etc. This strict restriction on power consumption requirement of the mobile device puts unique demand in designing hardware and software components of the device. In this paper, we address the issue of minimizing the power consumption in retrieving the continuous media data from the disk drive for real-time playback purpose. Different from the legacy text based data, real-time multimedia playback requires that the storage supplies the data brock continuous fashion. This may put immense burden on the power scarce environment since the disk is required to be active for the entire playback duration. We develop elaborate algorithm which carefully analyzes the power consumption profile of the disk drive and which establishes the data retrieval schedule for the given playback. It computes the amount of data blocks to read, the length of active and standby period. According to our simulation result, the ARM algorithm exhibits superior performance in continuous media retrieval from the aspect of power consumption to legacy playback scheme.

In this work, we present the novel scheduling algorithm of the multimedia data retrieval for the mobile disk drive. Our algorithm is focused on minimizing the power consumption involved in data retrieval from the local disk drive. The prime commodity in mobile devices is the electricity. Strict restriction on power consumption requirement of the mobile device put unique demand in designing of its hardware and software components. State of the art disk based storage subsystem becomes small enough to be embedded in handheld devices. It delivers abundant storage capacity and portability. However, it is never be trivial to integrate small hard disk or optical disk drive in handheld devices due to its excessive power consumption. Our algorithm ARM in this article generates the optimal schedule of retrieving data blocks from the mobile disk drive while guaranteeing continuous playback of multimedia data.

Acute pancreatitis can range from a mild, self-limiting disease that requires no more than supportive care to severe disease with life-threatening complications. Therefore, to provide a framework for clinicians to manage acute pancreatitis and to improve national health care, the Korean Pancreatobiliary Association (KPBA) established the first Korean guideline for the management of acute pancreatitis in 2013. However, many challenging issues exist, which sometimes lead to differences in practice between clinicians. Taking together the recent dramatic changes of latest knowledge and evidence newly obtained, the committee of the KPBA decided to perform an extensive revision of the guidelines. These revised guidelines were developed by using mainly Delphi methods, and the main topics of these guidelines fall under the following topics: 1) diagnosis, 2) severity assessment, 3) initial treatment, nutritional support, and convalescent treatment, 4) the treatment of local complication and necrotizing pancreatitis. Al₂O₃을 하지층으로 하는 Ba - ferrite 박막의 제조 및 자기적 특성에 관한 연구

Ba-Ferrite thin films were prepared on Al₂O₃ substrate by a pulsed laser deposition system and characterized by SEM, Mossbauer spectroscopy and VSM. The appropriate conditions of pulsation in Ba-ferrite was the oxygen pressure of 0.1 Torr at a substrate temperature of 400℃ and the thickness was variable with the deposition time. Ba-ferrite crystals had the forms of hexagonal plate in the 5 minute deposited film and the needle grains coexisted with the increasing film thickness. Mossbauer spectroscopy assured that the direction of atomic spin in Fe ion tends to normal to the substrate in the hexagonal plate. The VSM curves have the two types hysteresis of hexagonal and needle phase.

We have synthesized monodispersed α-Fe₂O₃ nano particles to investigate the spin change during the Morin transition temperature(T_M). The particle size was founded to have a very uniform distribution of 80 ㎚ by x-ray diffraction and size dispersion analyzer. The Mossbauer spectra between the 4.2 K and the room temperature show that T_M was shifted and the spin states of Fe ion were changed with the particle size. The Morin transition temperature of bulk usually quoted in literature is 265 K but, it decreases with the size and no transition was found at the critical size down to 4.2K. The spin direction of 80 ㎚ sized particles are normal to the hexagonal c-axis above the TM and are tilted about 28-29°below T_M, which is the [110] direction of rombohedral structure.

Mossbauer and Raman spectrum studies have been carried out on the 2b-site Fe ion in the Ba-ferrite (M-type). The thermal dynamics of Fe ion was analyzed by Mossbauer spectra at different angles between the γ-ray direction and c-axis. The vibration on the 2b-site was more active compare to other direction and had very strong intensity in the Raman spectrum.

통합형 파일시스템이 차세대 파일시스템으로 주목받으면서 디지털 셋톱박스나 스트리밍 서버에서 멀티미디어 서비스의 QoS를 보장함과 동시에 텍스트 기반의 웹 문서나 그림 파일 등의 입출력 요청을 처리하는 것이 중요한 이슈로 부각되고 있다. 그러나 하나의 파일 서버에서 다양한 요구사항을 지닌입출력들을 동시에 처리해야 하는 경우, 입출력 요청들의 디스크 탐색시간을 최소화하는 것을 목표로 하는 기존의 파일시스템에서는 멀티미디어 스트림의 QoS를 만족할 수가 없다. 본 논문에서는 이처럼 다양한 입출력 요청이 혼재하는 통합형 환경에서 멀티미디어 스트림의 QoS를 보장하는 파일시스템 개발에 대해 논의하고자 한다. 먼저 다양한 응용프로그램들의 입출력 요청을 QoS 요구사항에 따라 크게 두 가지-주기적인 요청, 산발적인 요청-로 구분하고, 입출력 요청 처리 수준에서 주기적인 요청에 높은 우선순위를 부여함으로써 멀티미디어 스트림의 QoS를 보장하도록 하였다. 또한, 이러한 메커니즘을 리눅스 운영체제에 구현하여 그 성능과 효과를 검증하였다. Handling mixed workload in digital set-top box or streaming server becomes an important issue as integrated file system gets momentum as the choice for the next generation file system. The next generation file system is required to handle real-time audio/video playback while being able to handle text requests such as web page, image file, etc. Legacy file system provides only best effort I/O service and thus cannot properly support the QoS of soft real-time I/O. In this paper, we would like to present our experience in developing the file system which can guarantee the QoS of multimedia stream. We classify all application I/O requests into two category: periodic I/O and sporadic I/O. The QoS requirement of multimedia stream could be guaranteed by giving a higher priority to periodic requests than sporadic requests. The proto-type file system(Qosfs) is developed on Linux Operating System.
