This paper proposes the bi-directional isolated DC-DC converter for a charger in electric vehicle. Unlike a common load, the battery absorbs converter output current ripple because it has a large capacitance. The converter out current ripple causes the battery to generate heat, reduce lifecycle and the efficiency of the system.. The system selects isolated bi-directional full-bridge. constant current / constant voltage charging control method guarantee improvement of output current ripple and the ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) is implemented by applying phase-shift strategies. The system is carried out with the software PSIM 9.2.

This paper deals with the rapid charger which is the mid-type between the slow and fast chargers in the aspect of charging time. In its functions, it can perform the Active Power Filter(APF) function without changing the topology besides the charging function. In addition, to perform the charging and APF function, this paper proposes the mode selection algorithm. The operation of the charger that has APF function and the mode selection algorithm are verified by the simulation and experiment.

This paper proposes a zero-voltage switching boost converter for a photovoltaic PCS(power conditioning system). The proposed converter is composed of a general boost converter adding a soft switching cell. The auxiliary switch helps the main switch operate with ZCS(zero current switching) and ZVS(zero voltage switching). And the main switch also operates with ZVS. The soft switching operation and MPPT(maximum power point tracking) are verified through the simulation.
