Gas springs have been widely used in most areas of industry. A gas spring is composed of cylinder, piston, piston rod and N2 gas, oil are filled inside cylinder. In case of traditional gas springs, the shock is occurred at the end of stroke and hinder to soft operating. Most of manufactures try to decide its specification (reaction force, damping force) by the trial and error method Therefore, this paper will not only clearly define the shock but also provide an optimum design specification through the numerical analysis using CFD-ACE+ program.

This study investigates about optimization of impeller vane of hydrogen recirculation blower for fuel cell vehicle. Parameter calculation were conducted for estimate performance of variable impeller vane, and also the hydrogen recirculation blower’s inner flow fields were investigated by CFD. Numerical analysis for pressure drop of hydrogen recirculation blower was conducted at 10k, 11k, 12k, 13k rpm. Calculated results show that pressure drop was sharply increase at less than 26 impeller vane, and also pressure drop was highest at more than 26 impeller vane.
