Developments of the Interpretation of ‘within the Veil’(Heb. 6:19-20) within Adventism

This study traces the developments of four different interpretations of the phrase, ‘within the veil’ (Heb. 6:19-20) within the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and explores their theological implications. The four different interpretations can be condensed as follows: (1) ‘into the Holy Place,’ (2) ‘into the Most Holy Place,’ (3) ‘into the whole heavenly sanctuary,’ and (4) ‘into the presence of God.’ This study is designed to help understand the long-standing debate over the interpretation of the phase ‘within the veil’ and its implications. This study will also help understand the reality of the heavenly sanctuary and the intercessory ministry of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary. The co-existence of the various interpretations of the phrase “within the veil” calls for a thorough linguistic, typological, biblical, and theological study. 본 연구는 재림교회를 중심으로 하여 “휘장 안에”(히 6:19-20)에 대한 네 가지 서로 다른 해석의 발달 과정을 추적하고 각 해석의 신학적 함의를 고찰한다. 네가지 해석은 다음과 같이 요약된다: (1) ‘성소 안으로,’ (2) ‘지성소 안으로,’ (3) ‘전체적인 하늘 성소 안으로,’ 그리고 (4) ‘하나님의 존전 안으로.’ 본 연구는 ‘휘장안’이라는 표현의 해석과 그 함의에 대한 오랜 논쟁을 이해하는데 도움을 주기 위하여 고안되었다. 또한 본 연구는 하늘 성소의 실재성과 하늘 성소에서의 그리스도의 중보 사역에 대한 이해에 도움을 줄 것이다. 재림교회 안에 “휘장 안에”에 대한 다양한 해석이 공존한다는 것은 보다 철저한 언어적, 표상적, 성서적, 그리고 신학적 연구를 요구한다.

Typical solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have limited applications because they operate at high temperature due to low ionic conductivity of electrolyte. Thin film solid oxide fuel cell with yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte is developed to decrease operating temperature. Pt/YSZ/Pt thin film SOFC was fabricated on anodic aluminum oxide (AAO). The crystalline structure of YSZ electrolyte by sputter is heavily depends on the roughness of porous Pt layer, which results in pinholes. To deposit YSZ electrolyte without pinholes and electrical shortage, it is necessary to deposit smoother and denser layer between Pt anode layer and YSZ layer by sputter. Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) technique is used to deposit pre-YSZ layer, and it improved electrolyte quality. 300nm thick Bi-layered YSZ electrolyte was successfully deposited without electrical shortage.

Hydrogen is the ideal candidate as an alternative energy carrier, so many hydrogen storage methods are investigated. The hydrogen storage method using metal hydride is good candidate as energy sources for portable devices because hydrogen-storage as metal hydride shows large volumetric storage density. In this study, we investigated the variations of hydrogen charging/discharging performance of metal hydride tanks at different temperature conditions. We charged metal hydride tanks with hydrogen in low temperature because of the exothermic reactions of hydrogen absorption while we discharged in high temperature to provide sufficient heat because of the endothermic reactions of desorption. In addition, we investigated the difference of hydrogen charging/discharging performance between two tanks having different sizes.
