As large scale civil engineering constructions go on pushed by economic de-velopment, problems are emerging with regard to resource utilization and environmental preservation due to construction materials. In this circumstance, PET bottle as construction materials will make environment-friendly approach to more efficient recycling of resources. In this study, to utilize PET bottle as substitute by EPS, uniaxial test was performed on PET bottle, and compressive strengths were respectively compared and analyzed depending on whether dry ice is added or not. As a result, it was proposed that it can be applied to the field as substitute by EPS.

불용 자원을 건설 자원화 한다면 자원재활용 측면에서 더욱더 효율적으로 친환경적인 접근이 가능할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 PET병을 EPS 블록 대용으로 활용하기 위하여 PET 병을 대상으로 압축강도 시험을 실시하였으며, 이를 드라이아이스 첨가 유무에 따라 압축강도를 각각 비교분석하였다. 그 결과 EPS 블록 대용으로 현장에 적용 가능성을 확인하였다. Use of disuse resources like PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottle as construction materials will make environment-friendly approach to more efficient recycling of resources. In this study, to utilize PET bottle as substitute by EPS (expanded polystyrene) block, uni-axial test was performed on PET bottle, and compressive strengths were respectively compared and analyzed depending on whether dry ice is added or not. As a result, it was confirmed that PET bottle (Ceo-bottle) can be applied to the field as substitute for EPS block.
