It is well known that the radiation exposure is very harmful to the human body, so the proper use of the radiation protection apron during medical imaging is important. However, the risk of the radiation exposure has been increased gradually because various medical imaging tools has been developed as well. Unfortunately, most radiation protection aprons are made of lead (Pb), so they are usuall too heavy to work for a long time. Some lead-free aprons are available but they are too expensive. So, in this study, oxide based lead-free radiation protection apron based on tin, antimony and barium sulfate was developed, and the performance of the apron is compared with commercially available radiation protection aprons.
