터널 내부에서의 화재의 경우 일반도로와 달리 운전자의 시야 확보가 어려워 대형사고가 발생할 가능성이 매우 높다. 따라서 터널 내부 화재 발생 시 제트팬 용량에 따른 제연 효과에 관한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 NIST에서 개발한 화재시뮬레이션인 FDS를 사용하여 제트팬의 유무, 제트팬의 용량에 의해 터널 내부에서 발생한 차량 화재에 대한 제트팬 용량에 따른 연기 거동 및 가시거리, 일산화탄소의 농도를 분석하였다. HRRPUA(Heat Release Rate Per Area)는 3.6MW/m 로 설정하였으며, 모든 해석 시간은 총 600s로 설정하였다. CFD에 의한 가시거리, 일산화탄소 농도 해석은 y=30m, y=110m에서 결과를 확인하였으며 직경과 유량에 따라 연기거동 분석, 가시거리 분석, 일산화탄소 농도를 확인하였다. 제트팬의 직경과 유량이 커질수록 y=30m 후방에서 높은 가시거리를 확인할 수 있으며 일산화탄소 농도가 0ppm임을 확인하였다. 제트팬 직경과 유량이 큰 조건에서는 제트팬 유동의 상류 방향으로 대피하면 인명피해를 최대한 줄일 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. In case of a fire inside a tunnel, unlike ordinary roads, it is very difficult for a driver to obtain visibility, and a large accident is highly likely to occur. In this study, the smoke behavior, visible distance, and CO concentration of a jet fan were analyzed using the NIST fire simulation (FDS). All analyses were set to HRRPUA (Heat Release Rate Per Area) 3.6MW/m and all the analysis times were set to 600s. In all analyses by CFD, the results were confirmed at y=30m and y=110m, and smoke behavior analysis, visible range analysis, and carbon monoxide concentration were confirmed according to the diameter and flow rate. As the size and flow rate of the jet fan increased, the visibility distance was high at y=30m, and the concentration of carbon monoxide was also confirmed to be 0 ppm. Therefore, proper setting of the jet fan diameter and flow rate will be an excellent solution for fires in tunnels, and taking refuge at upstream area of a re-ventilated fan can reduce the number of casualties.

Vehicle tuning is a new industry that makes vehicles more powerful by adding components for higher performance. There is still a negative perception in Korea due to illegal tuning and regulation. This has not enabled the tuning industry. To improve these negative perceptions, we must eradicate illegal tuning and make sure that the right tuning is done. Therefore, systematic education should be done to train specialized engineers of automobile parts. In this study, we have developed Vehicle tuning curriculum and teaching materials for systematic tuning education. This study aims to contribute to the revitalization of the tuning industry by cultivating experts through tuning training courses and its operation, and by developing and producing teaching materials for tuning vehicles.

Automotive parts modification in domestic market has not been activated due to the restrictions in laws and illegal recognition, as well as the safety and environmental issues. In order to overcome this situation, we need a relaxation of regulations in law and change of recognition in car modification market. Thereafter, a systematic education for cultivating the specialized technician of automotive parts modification should be introduced at government level and the facilities for the program are also required. The project group for Center for car modification in Daegu is getting ready for providing general and professional support services for performance prediction and modification information services with a Car-vatar system. Especially Keimyung University team is planning and performs the educational program. We would like to introduce the educational program with car tuning manual for cultivating the specialized technician of automotive parts modification.

Government and related organizations are making every possible effort to vitalize automobile tuning industry. However, the trust is, both tuning companies including manufacturers and customers haven’t been satisfied yet. Deregulation is the top priority to vitalize the automobile industry, which is demanded by tuning industry as well as lots of related communities. A large number of people still consider tuning illegal because of a few illegally tuned-cars, making the deregulation difficult. That’s why there need to be a recognition improvement of tuning for the public in addition to the development of its manual for establishing safe and technologies. The manual provides information of a variety of tuning parts to achieve the goal. It also gives not only operation methods but also engineering knowledge to equip appropriate tuning parts for the car. It’s hard to describe every detail of that since there are so many preferences and working methods. Thus, we are going to choose representative models per each automobile and try to develop tuning manuals gathering common characteristics of car. Starting with this, people will think tuning is safe and legal and be able to trust it by getting manuals from related from related businesses themselves. I wish these activities would be helpful for deregulation of tuning.

The present study is going to improve negative awareness and provide accurate information with customers by developing a tuning manual. The procedure of tuning manual development is divided into total 7 steps, which are suggesting its purpose, organizing theories, gathering information and components, undertaking the tuning, getting feedbacks from experts and the final manufacturing. Required components can be the suspension system, brake system, intake and exhaust system, aero parts and so on based on the type of a car. In each part, there are introductions of related laws, application theories, necessary tools and equipments as well as the work procedure and notices when working. The manual has been completed in 4 types of cars until now and will be continuously added in the different types of cars and components.
