고추 疫病과 더뎅이病 復合抵抗性 系統育成을 위한 F_3 系統檢定

In order to develop pepper lines with combined resistance to Phytophthora blight (Phytophthora capsici) and bacterial spot (Xanthomonas capestris pv. vesicatoria), which are important diseases of pepper in korea, individual plants with combined resistance to the two diseases were selected in F_2 population of a cross between PI201234 (resistant to Phytophthora blight) and PI271322 (resustant to bacterial spot) and selfed to produce F_3 seeds. Seedlings of the F_3 lines were inoculated with P. capsici and race 1 and race 3 of X. campestris pv. vesicatoria. A continuous distribution of resistance between highly resistant lines which were showing almost the same level of resistance as the resistant parent and susceptible lines most plants of which were killed was observed. Twelve of the 42 F_3 lines were true breeding for Bs_3, 28 were segregating for the gene (Bs_3) for hypersensitive resistance to race 1 of bacterial spot pathogen, and unexpectedly 2 lines had only non-hypersensitive plants. A continuous distribution of resistance to race 3 of bacterial spot pathogen was observed between the most resistant line with disease index 1.00 and the most susceptible with disease index 3.35. Among the lines tested. a few lines which were resistant to Phytophthora blight, true breeding for Bs_3 gene, and also resistant to race 3 of X. campestris pv. vesicatoria were recovered.
