The King’s Speech를 통해 살펴본 버림(unlearning)을 위한 교육적 배려

본 연구는 지식 주입 중심의 교육과 억압적인 양육방식이 낳은 주체성의 침식과 강화된 순응성을 버리는 작업에 대해 숙고하는 것이다. 이를 위해 필자는 도구적 합리주의와 과학주의로 무장된 지식중심 교육으로 타자화된 주관성 혹은 주체의 목소리 회복을 위한 타인의 배려는 어떠해야하는가? 라는 물음을 상정하였다. 이 물음에 대한 논의를 위해 필자는 The King’s Speech에 나타난 환자(Bertie)와 언어치료사(Lionel) 사이의 관계를 융의 이론을 중심으로 분석하였다. 이어서 교육에서 일어나는 비주체화를 거부, 사랑, 이상아의 개념으로 논의함으로써 ‘버림’의 필요성을 주장한다. 나아가 Bertie의 ‘버림’을 도우는 언어치료사의 치료가 교육에 주는 의미에 대해서 논의한다. 이를 통해 필자는 버림을 위한 배려를 위해서 배려의 결과보다 주체에 대한 이해의 우선, 고도로 개별화된 접근, 타자의 자기개방의 가능성, 배려적 관계 형성, 그리고 버림의 작업은 주체만이 할 수 있다는 이해가 필요하다고 주장한다. 이러한 접근에 기초한 배려 관계를 통해 주체는 보다 실제적인 자기-자기 관계를 발전시킬 수 있는 기회를 얻게 됨을 제안한다. This study stems from a question about how to recover the subjectivity or “voice” of a subject who is objectified by an intellect-oriented education strengthened and exacerbated by scientific rationality. The focus of this study is on caring approaches for unlearning for of those whose subjectivities and voices have been suffocated by oppressive child-raising and educational practices. The recovery of the voice requires such people to unlearn their strong conformity to outer forces and restrictions, especially such forces from significant others. For this purpose, I analyze the relationship between Bertie (the patient) and Lionel (the therapist) in The King’s Speech using the concepts of Carl Jung. Then, I discuss the concepts of disconfirmation, love, and anomaly in order to argue for the necessary process of unlearning for recovering the voices of individuals in their education. Furthermore, I contemplate the educational implications of Lionel’s approach to curing Bertie’s stammering. The implications include the priority of understanding individuals over the consequence of the act of caring; a highly individualized approach; the possibilities of the disclosure of the other; developing and sustaining caring relationship; and the primacy of the role of the subject in the journey of unlearning, a journey which can lead to developing an authentic self-self relationship.

웨이블릿 압축된 영상의 정칙화 기반 후처리에 관한 연구

본 논문에서는 웨이블릿 부호와 방식으로 압축된 영상을 정칙화된 영상복원 방법으로 후처리하는 알고리듬을 제안한다. 우선은 웨이블릿 기반 압축 시스템을 영상 열화 시스템(image degradation system)으로 적절히 모델화한다. 그리고 비선형 함수를 정칙화 과정의 제약조건으로 사용함으로써 고주파 성분 계수들의 손실 때문에 발생하는 링 현상(ringing artifact) 및 블록화 현상(blocking artifact)과 같은 열화들을 효과적으로 제거하는 방법을 제안한다. 또한, 실험 결과를 토대로 기존의 후처리 방법과 제안된 알고리듬의 성능을 비교한다. This paper proposes an algorithm that postprocesses wavelet-compressed images by using regularized iterative image restoration. First, an appropriate modeling the image degradation system for wavelet-compression system is needed. Then, the method which uses one of nonlinear functions as constraint in regularized iterative restoration is proposed in order to remove coding artifacts efficiently, such as ringing artifact and blocking artifact, resulted from loss of high frequency coefficients. Lastly, experimental results show superiority of proposed algorithm as compared with existing algorithm.

Since the Maglev vehicle is run over an elevated guideway, the types of guideways affect the running behavior of the vehicle and guideway. The design of a guideway has a strong effect on the costs of constructing guideways, the optimized design of a guideway satisfying running performance is needed for the commercialization of the Maglev vehicle. With an analysis program for dynamics of Maglev vehicles, the dynamic responses of the UTM01 and guideway are numerically analyzed according to types of guideway.

자신과 마주할 용기: 교육과정 수업에서의 쿠레레 의미 탐색

Currere, as an autobiographical method, has been used not only in the areas of education, but also in areas such as nursing, sociology, and anthropology. It has contributed to the development of qualitative research methodologies, such as autobiographical inquiry, autoethnography, narrative inquiry, and self-study, in the field of curriculum studies. While studies of this method and its application have been conducted in Korea, its status remains inceptive, and there is, among some scholars, uncertainty about the effectiveness of the method, partly attributed to the scarcity ofempirical research on the possibilities and perceived meaning of the currere method in Korean contexts. In an effort to reduce this uncertainty, the experiences of sophomores were conceptualized using the currere method in a curriculum course at the University of Education. A qualitative analysis was conducted using data collected from the students’ reflections of currere experiences and interviews. From the analysis, six themes emerged: self-compassion, self-care, being released from abstraction, facing difficult knowledge, finding and making of counter-narratives, and the understanding of the primacy of self-understanding. By encouraging students to bring their lived experiences into the classroom, this study demonstrated the possibilities of applying currere in teacher training courses.

재난을 표상하기, 그리하여 재난을 정치화하기

이 글은 한국사회의 재난을 둘러싸고 전개되고 있는 정치적 갈등을 문화정치적 관점에서 해석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 여기서 ‘문화정치적’이라는 용어의 의미는 상징, 서사, 이미지, 언표 등과 같은 표상의 특정한 구축을 통해 재난과 같은 사태의 의미를 규정하는 작업, 그리고 이를 통해 그러한 사태에 대한 대중의 감각을 규제하거나 재구성하는 정치적 작업을 뜻한다. 이 글은 랑시에르의 치안과 정치의 개념을 통해 정치적인 것이 어떻게 감감각적인 것의 차원에서 수행됨을 규명하고자 한다. 나아가 세월호사건을 중심으로 한국 사회의 재난에 대한 대중적 감각의 형성에서 치안의 작동양상을 재난서사라는 개념을 통해 분석할 것이다. 이어서는 재난에 대한 감각을 규제하는 치안의 작업에 맞서는 안전사회운동이 어떻게 대안적 표상을 구축함으로써 재난에 대한 감각을 정치화하였는가를 논의할 것이다. 마지막으로 이러한 해석적 연구 작업을 통해 문화정치학의 의미를 명확히 하고자 한다. This article aims to analyze the political conflict over disasters in Korean society from a cultural-political perspective. The term “cultural politics” refers to the political work of defining the meaning of events such as disasters through the specific construction of representations such as symbols, narratives, images, and speech, and in doing so, regulating or reconstructing the public's sense of such events. Through Rancière's concepts of policing and politics, this article aims to identify how the political is performed at the level of the sensible. Furthermore, I will analyze the operation of policing in the formation of the public sense of disaster in Korean society through the concept of disaster narrative, focusing on the Sewol ferry disaster. I will then discuss how the Safe Society Movement, which challenges the work of policing in regulating the sense of disaster, has politicized the sense of disaster by constructing alternative representations. Finally, I will clarify the meaning of cultural politics through this interpretive research work.

교사교육과 교육과정 연구를 위한 쿠레레의 개념화와 교육 연구 적용 가능성 탐구

교육과정 개념으로서의 쿠레레는 교육과정의 재개념화에 기여하였으며 연구방법으로서 쿠레레는 교사교육과 교육과정 탐구의 발전에 지대한 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만 지금까지 쿠레레 관련 연구 담론을 전체적으로 분석한 논문이 등장하지 않았다. 이에 연구자는 교사교육과 교육과정 분야에서 이루어진 쿠레레 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 먼저 쿠레레의 개념, 연구방법적 절차와 특징, 핵심 연구 개념, 그리고 철학적 기초를 논의하였다. 연구자는 국내·외 쿠레레 연구들에 대한 문헌연구를 수행하였다. 분석결과는 연구주제 그리고 연구방법 적용의 유형의 두 관점에서 제시하였다. 쿠레레 관련 연구 주제와 관련하여 연구자는 ‘교사의 교육과정 실천 이해’, ‘예비교사의 주관성 탐구’, ‘학생들의 학습 경험 탐구’, ‘교육과정 개발과 평가’, ‘쿠레레의 가치와 의미 탐구’의 다섯 가지 주제로 분류하여 논의하였다. 연구방법 적용 유형의 측면에서는 ‘쿠레레 철학적 탐구’, ‘엄밀한 쿠레레 적용’, ‘쿠레레 연구/프로젝트 메타 분석’, ‘쿠레레 요소의 부분적 활용’, ‘쿠레레 방법의 응용’으로 논의하였다. 나아가 연구자는 우리나라 교육과정 연구를 위한 쿠레레 활용의 가치와 가능성을 제언하였다. Currere, as a curricular concept, has contributed to reconceptualization of curriculum studies, and as an autobiographical method, it had great influence on the development of research methodologies in curriculum studies. Yet, no research has been conducted to build the overall discourse of currere related studies. In this respect, this review article aims to review currere-applied researches in teacher education and curriculum studies. To do so, the researcher first discussed the meaning of the concept, phases and characteristics of the method, central research concepts, and philosophical and theoretical foundations of the method. The researcher conducted a holistic literature review of currere-applied researches both in South Korea and overseas. The result of the literature review was presented in terms of research topics of curriculum studies and the application strategies of the method. In terms of application strategies, the researcher categorized existing currere-applied researches into five categories such as ‘philosophical inquiry on currere’, ‘rigorous application of the autobiographical method’, ‘meta-analysis of currere inquiry/projects’, ‘partial application of the method’, and ‘development of research concepts and methods using currere’. For currere-applied research, it is defined into 5 categories of ‘understanding teachers’ curriculum practice’, ‘understanding pre-service teachers’ subjectivities’, ‘understanding students’ learning experiences’, ‘development and evaluation of curriculum’, and ‘theoretical discussion on the value and meanings of the concept and the method’. The discussion focus lies on the research findings, central concepts and issues, and implications for curriculum studies. In conclusion, the researcher provided suggestions for educational researchers in terms of how currere might open new curriculum research topics in South Korea.
