In this study, the -l-way spool valve characteristics are clearly defined and proposed new type of spool valve. This paper presents governing equations of the flow through clearances between sleeve and spool as a model of orifice flow for null characteristic analysis, and programmed analysis software of it. This software is possible to basically analysis that not only which case of open center, closed center or critical center but +,- displacement of spool, lab position, boundary region and spool opening of the valve, and to estimate the pressure variation in the spool and external leak flow variation. We are convinced that the scale of load pressure difference is changed as lab condition of spool valve, and this scale is changed with boundary point on the annular clearance.

In the paper, low pressure proportional solenoid actuator which is used for fuel control of common rail system of diesel vehicle was studied. Steady state characteristics of the solenoid actuator for electro-hydraulic proportional valve determined by the shape of control cone are analyzed using finite element method and it is confirmed that the proportional solenoid actuator has a constant attraction force in the control region independently on the stroke position. Based on these analysis, an optimized solenoid actuator model and valve assembly for diesel fuel control was suggested and manufactured. Also, the performance of this model was evaluated through the experiments.

Gas valve for domestic use is used for flow control of LPG(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) or LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) of which pressure is about 200mmH₂O(?0.0196 [bar]). Currently, two kinds of valves such as rotary type and button type are widely used in many applications. But, these valves have some problems that they are not controllable and reliable. Piezo actuation combined with modern microelectronics provides a reliable, quiet, low energy, infinitely adjustable gas valve. In this paper, gas valve using piezo actuator which are bimorph and a circle type was studied. Also, Prototype for gas valve was manufactured and characteristics of the prototype gas valve were analyzed.

Generally, diesel vehicles emit the toxic gases including nitrogen and produce noise during operation. these problems deteriorate the comport of passangers, environmental pollutions and energy saving. As the solution for the above-mentioned problems, the method, which involves the injection of high pressure and atomization of fuel, is needed to improve the combution process of diesel engine. In this study, researches for performance improvement of the high pressure control valve with solenoid actuator used in Common Rail System of diesel vehicle were accomplished. Also, the results of numerical analysis from the FEM and effects of the design parameters were discussed.
