Nafion<SUP>?</SUP> membrane can be used as an ion-selective polymer membrane in such as ion-concentration polarization. A deep understand on the electrical properties of Nafion<SUP>?</SUP> is necessary to use it effectively. To our first attempt, we observed the motion of fluorescent particles around a Nafion? membrane placed on a solid substrate, under electric field. A large scale vortex structure was observed near the corner of Nafion<SUP>?</SUP> membrane. The motion of particles seems to be significantly affected by the electric field. It is anticipated that in-depth understanding on the flow and particle motion will contribute to find out electrical properties of Nafion<SUP>?</SUP> membrane as well as its influence on electric field.
Design of integrated experimental system for performance evaluation of stretchable strain sensor

Recently, much attention has been drawn to stretchable or flexible electronic sensors for measuring input pressure or deformation on movable and arbitrarily shaped objects. In this research, for evaluating performances of stretchable strain sensor, we designed an integrated experimental system for measuring simultaneously change of stress and conductance of a conductive and stretchable membrane under applying strain. Results show that the developed integrated experimental system successfully evaluated performances of crack-based stretchable strain sensor including deformation characteristics, sensing range, and sensing sensitivity.
