        The objective of this paper is to analyze the environmental effects by the fertilizer change with wastewater reuse for agriculture. For this research, Lysimeter tests are being implemented to cultivate rice with different levels of fertilizer applications with wastewater irrigation., and to analyze the nutrient loading by wastwater reuse in paddy fields was examined the CREAMS-PADDY model. CREAMS-PADDY model is modified from CREAMS model for considering the hydrologic cycles in paddy field. As a result, in the lysimeter treated by irrigation with wastewater and chemical fertilizer with half of the conventional amount showed generally similar tendency to the control plot. This may require the modifications of standard cultural practices for rice in terms of fertilizer and pesticide applications. However, high concentration of sodium in wastewater might cause damage to physico-chemical properties of paddy soil. And the wastewater reuse effects on nutrient loads were quantitatively analyzed and this results provide the reasonable management for agricultural reuse.

      • 농업용수 재이용에 따른 논 침출수 모니터링

        The objective of this research was to monitor and analysis the effluent, ponded water, soil, and leachate quality by the wastewater effluents to paddy fields. A randomized complete block design with split plot arrangements was used with three treatments and four replicates on 5 m × 5 m plots. The three treatments were separated according to the irrigation water: groundwater, wastewater, and filtered wastewater with UV treatment. The effects of various irrigation treatment levels on water quality, paddy soil, leachate were investigated. This study showed that irrigation with reclaimed wastewater is potentially safe for rice cultivation, however high concentration of sodium in wastewater might cause damage to physico-chemical properties of paddy soil. Therefore, long-term monitoring is needed to determine its effects on soil and leachate quality characteristics with reclaimed wastewater reuse.

      • 농업용수 재이용을 위한 시범지구 수질 및 생육 모니터링

        This study focuses on water quality and crop growth monitoring of wastewater reuse for agriculture and analyzes the results of the monitoring. The study area of the 45 ha is monitored from 2006 and is located in Byeongjeom-Dong and Jinan-Dong, Hwaseong-Si. Water quality monitoring was conducted by analyzing the water quality index such as BOD, T-N, T-P (etc.) of irrigation water, ponding and outflow of the sampling paddy fields from the period of rice planting to final drainage of residual water. Results showed that SP#05 is highest in T-N and SP#02 in BOD. Especially, when observing the change of T-N and T-P concentration of each sampling point, T-N showed a 33%~67% effect in ponding water quality improvement and T-P was 19%~35% with the exception of SP#04. These results show that wastewater reuse for agriculture can help reduce the amount of fertilization. Crop growth monitoring was conducted by measuring the plant height of each sampling point and it shown no distinct tendency. There are many deferences in the yield of rice in the study area, especially between SP#03 and SP#04. The average rice yield of the study area made difference -40(kg/10a)~ +40(kg/10a) compared with Hwaseong average rice yield.

      • 논 담수 내 미생물 농도의 시간적 모의를 위한 모델 개발

        The objective of this paper is to develop the microorganism concentration simulation model for the health related effect analysis while farmers and water managers reuse the wastewater for agricultural irrigation. This model consists of the CE-QUAL-R1 model and the CREAMS-PADDY model. The CE-QUAL-R1 model is the 1-D numerical model to analyze the water quality of the reservoir and the CREAMS-PADDY model is modified from CREAMS model for considering the hydrologic cycles in paddy field. This model was applied to examine the application by the observed data from 2003 in Byoungjum study area. From this research, the average root mean square error (RMSE) for the simulated concentration during the calibration period was 0.51 MPN/100ml and correlation coefficient (R<sup>2</sup>) was 0.71. And the RMSE for the simulated concentration during the verification period was 0.46 MPN/100ml and R<sup>2</sup> was 0.73. This simulation results show that the coliform inflow concentrations by the wastewater irrigation wield great influence upon the temporal coliform concentrations in paddy field.
