Tip-in shock is the oscillation occurred by a sudden push of the accel pedal. The oscillation is in the 2-10 ㎐ range, which are the most sensitive frequencies for the human body, and the driver/passenger experiences a great discomfort if the amplitude of the oscillation is too large. Various factors affect the amplitude of tip-in shock, and this paper focuses on the influence of automotive powertrain mounting system among them. An analysis model for evaluating the influence of powertrain mounting system characteristics on the amplitude of tip-in shock has been developed and evaluated, and will be presented in this paper.
