It takes more time and high costs to analyze into the schematic design at existing design process for sustainable architecture. However, It became fast and easy to analyze the environmental impact of architecture under the circumstances of using BIM. Because building model, which is builded by BIM tools and analysis/simulation tools, includes properties of the architecture systems and members. Thus it is possible to analyze the environmental impact of architecture. BIM tools and analysis/simulation applications can perform a solar/sun study, daylighting analysis, interior illuminance analysis, insulation analysis and fluid dynamics analysis during schematic design stage. and these can find a shape of an idea of the envelope, which facing the exterior during schematic design stage.

This paper intends to present the applicability and feasibility of BIPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaic) system. Recently, specific plans and movements to encourage suppliance and improvement in alternative energy have been visualized. Since the final energy consumption in the building sector in Korea represents almost 30% of total energy consumption, adopting renewable energy like photovoltaic is required. Among renewable energy, the solar energy (photovoltaic system) has the application possibility in the building. Also, as the number of high-rise buildings increased, energy consumption in the high-rise buildings has been issue. And measures to energy consumption of giant buildings are urgent for us. Therefore, I studied necessity and fundamental principle of photovoltaic system as an alternative energy resource. Then, I researched on the possibility of photovoltaic system which can be applied to building external wall and application of building integrated photovoltaic system as architectural design element.

Standard Estimating System, which can be used for estimating a construction cost, has been pointed out having several problems such as non-reflecting a variety of construction environments and site conditions, non-adapting new technologies and methods since it was established in 1970. For solving these problems, the Korean Institute of Construction Technology(KICT) has amended Standard Estimating System with some organizations. However, they have had many mistakes in the process of amending works because of non-establishing amending process and absence of the depreciation measurement method. The primary objective of this research is to improve the amending process of the Standard Estimating System so that amending participants can reduce error in the process of amending the Standard Estimating System. Furthermore, this research proposed the depreciation measurement method available for the construction temporary work by means of analyzing researches that performed in the manufacturing industry and the measurement method for depreciation of general accounts. It is anticipated that the effective use of the proposed depreciation measurement method would be able to minimize the dispute between the owner and construction company.

Right internal jugular vein catheterization is performed frequently as central venous catheterization by the landmark method. This procedure, however, might prove difficulty due to anatomic variations or thrombosis of internal jugular vein. We failed to catheterize right internal jugular vein by the landmark method in 70-year-old female patient. And then, we detected right internal jugular vein thrombosis by ultrasound scan. Left internal jugular vein catheterization was performed by the ultrasound guided technique. Central venous catheterization has possibility to fail despite several attempts by the landmark method. Then, ultrasound guided approach is a good choice to aid central venous catheterization when difficulties or complications have been encountered. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2008; 55: 744~6)
