The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of outdoor particulate matter(PM) on indoors in recent high-rise residential housing unit in Korea by estimation and comparison of penetration coefficient and deposition rate. The experiment was based on natural decay test and was conducted by measuring the particulate matters after generating dusts. Penetration coefficient and deposition rate were estimated using lumped indoor particle model based on the mass conservation, and compared with the result obtained by excluding the effect of infiltration of outdoor particle. There was no significant difference in the deposition rate when the particle infiltration and penetration effect was excluded. The result suggests that recent Korean residential housing is tight and are less susceptible to external fine particle when there are no significantly high concentration of outdoor particles.
