Cationic phospholipid membranes have known to be an important component of non-viral gene delivery vectors. The structural and electrostatic properties of cationic phospholipid membranes influence on the effectiveness of non-viral gene delivery vectors. In this study, using molecular dynamics, we investigate the phospholipid bilayer consisting of a mixture of cationic dimyristoyltrimethylammonium propane (DMTAP) and zwitterionic dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine(DMPC) along with different DMTAP mole fraction.We observe the effect of the composition of the phospholipid bilayer on the properties of the phospholipid bilayer, such as area per lipid, ordering of lipid acyl chains, density profiles, charge density, electrostatic potential.
