This paper presents the findings of a survey though the use of a structured questionnaire of 140 visitors from foreign country to Korea in May 2008. The main objective is to determine if these tourists could effectively segmented based their motivations for travel. The analysis of the survey data confirmed that they could be clustered into three main segments. Each of the segments was found to possess unique profiles in terms of demographic background, trip-related characteristics and personal values. The segments were also assessed of their levels of satisfaction with various attributes offered by Korea as a tourist destination. In addition, their overall satisfaction, likelihood of making positive word-of-mouth recommendation to others were also determined. In all of these, the segments were found to differ significantly from each other. Finally, the implications of these finding were discussed and suggestions made as to how Korea could effectively develop marketing strategies to attract these tourists.

This study researched on “Intent to participation” prior to tour activity in Suwon and Hawseong areas to examine possibility of developing the local tourism if tourist attraction is to be developed around the scattered cultural heritage from the era of king Yeongjo and Jeongjo. To that end, the study conducted cross tabulation analysis with two groups which were divided into two subgroups respectively by whether they had experience of visiting Suwon and Hwaseong areas, and whether they had experience of visiting sites of cultural heritage. As a result, “Intent to participation” in tourist attraction was presented by percentage to show differences and potential groups to contribute to develop historic and cultural tourism were examined.

This research focuses on rural interpreter`s behaviors and needs in rural tourism village around country. Although it happens that many farm tourism guides are accomplished in rural tourism village, but significant interest on this topic has not been identified yet. Therefore the primary objective of this study lies in identifying rural interpreter`s behaviors and needs who is active play in rural tourism village. The study was conducted in a small rural community where tourism is still at its emerging stage. It was found that rural interpreter played active role by studying about rural culture and farm interpret for himself. But they was pointed out multifarious activities with various rural experience guide, and they used reality in the process of the interpret, but not village history. farm tourism guides demanded their expertise or special ability.

Alkaliphilic Bacillus sp. S-1 secretes a large amount (approximately 80% of total pullulanase activity) of an extracellular pullulanase (PUL-E). The pullulanase exists in two forms: a precursor form(PUL-1LM, 180,000), and a processed form (PUL-E:M,140,000). Two forms were purified to homogeneity and their properties were compared. PUL-1 was different in molecular weight. isoelectric point. NH2-terminal amino acid sequence, and stabilities over pH and temperature ranges. The catalytic activities of PUL-1 were also distinguishable in the Km and Vmax values for various substrates, and in the specific activity for pullulan hydrolysis. PUL-E showed 10-fold higher specific activities than PUL-1. However. PUL-1 is immunologically identical to PUL-E .suggesting that PUL-1 is initially synthesized and proteolytically processed to the mature form of PUL-E. Processing was inhibited by PMSF.but not by pepstatin, suggesting that some intracellular serine proteases could be responsible for processing of the PUL-1 .PUL-1 has a different conformational structure for antibody recognition from that of PUL-E. It is also postulated that the translocation of alkaline pullulanase(AP) in the bacterium possibly requires processing of the NH2-terminal region of the AP protein. Processing of the precursor involves a conformational shift. resulting in a mature form. Therefore. precursor processing not only cleaves the signal peptide, but also induces conformational shift. allowing development of active form of the enzyme.
