Objective : The object of this literatual study is to investigate the etiology of dry eye syndrome Methods : We have selected data related to etiology of dry eye syndrome on the literature of Oriental Medicine. And we analyzed the study. Results : Treatment and etiology concerning dry eye syndrome derived diverse opinion according to medical era and practitioner. It was a good opportunity to speculate the etiology and similar symptoms of dry eye syndrome. Conclusions : Through literatual Study, we basically understood the etiology of dry eye syndrome. In the study of the etiology, it seems that further clinical studies on treatment of dry eye syndrome via oriental medicine.
웅담약침액이 다종의 각막염 유발균에 미치는 항균력에 대한 실험

Objectives : This experimental study was performed to investigate the effectiveness of Fel Ursi Pharmacopunture solution(FUPS) manufactured by using alcohol/water extraction method. To identify the use of it as eyedrops, antibacterial test on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporum, and Candida albicans was performed. Methods : After treatment FUPS on bacterial species(Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporum, Candida albicans) which cause Keratitis, we investigated anti-bacterial effects of FUPS on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporum, Candida albicans in terms of measuring MIC and size of inhibition zone respectively. Results : After FUPS was treated, significant changes of MIC on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporum and Candida albicans were not observed at all. Conclusions : The present study suggests that FUPS doesn't have anti-bacterial effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporum and Candida albicans which cause Keratitis. Perhap These results recommend that FUPS doesn't have anti-bacterial effects but have other mechanism which suppress inflammation.

The severe form of chronic periodontitis(CP) has been reported to be strongly associated with the presence of allele 2 of composite IL-1B(+3954) and IL-1A(+4845) genetic polymorphisms(genotype positive). However, other studies have reported conflicting findings. These might have resulted from differences in ethnic background and disease entities. The aim of this study was to determine the distribution of IL-1A(+4845), IL-1B(+3954), IL-1B(-511), and IL-1 RN(VNTR) genetic polymorphisms in children as a future Korean population. The study population consisted of 92 children from the Dept. of Pediatric Dentistry, Chonnam National University Hospital. Genomic DNA was obtained from buccal swab. The IL-1A(+4845), IL-1B(+3954), and IL-1B(-511) genes were genotyped by amplifying the polymorphic region using multiplex polymerase chain reaction(PCR), followed by restriction enzyme digestion and gel electrophoresis. IL-1 RN(VNTR) polymorphism were then evaluated by PCR amplification and fragment size analysis in agarose gel. The allele 2 frequency was 41.3%, 4.3%, 47.8%, and 9.9% for IL-1A(+4845), IL-1B(+3954), IL-1B(-511), and IL-1 RN respectively. The frequency of genotype with allele 2 carriage for IL-1A(+4845), IL-1B(+3954), IL-1B(-511), and IL-1 RN was 77.1%, 7.6%, 63.0%, and 15.2% respectively. The allele 2 frequency in IL-1B(+3954) was significantly higher in female than in male population(p<0.05). The negative association was shown between the presence of allele 2 in IL-1B(-511) and in IL-1B(+3954), and the carriage rate of IL-1B(+3954) allele 2 tended to lower in IL-1B(-511) allele 2(P=0.056). Only 7.3% of children carried the composite genotype of IL-1A(+4845) and IL-1B(+3954). These results suggest that the polymorphism of IL-1B(+3954) and the positive composite genotype was relatively rare in Korean population.
다중대역 SweepSAR 운용 모드의 시스템 성능 분석

본 논문에서는 고해상도 광역관측을 위한 위성 영상레이다(Synthetic Aperture Radar)의 시스템 주요 성능을 분석하였다. 배열 급전을 이용하는 반사판 안테나의 패턴을 활용하였으며, 기존의 광역관측 모드인 ScanSAR 모드와 SweepSAR 모드에 대해서 비교 분석하였다. SweepSAR 모드는 넓은 범위에 빔을 송신하고, SCORE(SCan On REceive)를 기반으로 순차적으로 빔포밍을 통해 반향신호를 수신하는 고해상도 광역관측 모드이다. 본 논문에서는 SweepSAR 모드로 동작하는 위성의 동작원리 및 특징을 분석하고, 시스템 성능 파라미터를 시뮬레이션 해석하였다. 또한, 영상의 활용도를 증대시키기 위해서 다중 주파수 대역(C-band, X-band)에 대하여 성능 분석을 수행하였다. In this paper, we analyze the main performance of satellite"s Synthetic Aperture Radar system for high resolution and wide swath. We have used the radiation pattern of reflector antenna with array feed and comparison between the conventional ScanSAR mode and SweepSAR mode has been carried out. The SweepSAR mode is a high-resolution wide-swath mode that transmits beams over a wide range and receives echo signals through sequential beamforming based on SCORE(SCan On REceive). In this paper, we analyzed the operating principle and characteristics of satellite"s SweepSAR mode and simulate system performances. In addition, in order to increase the utilization of image, performances analysis for multiple frequency bands(C-band, X-band) has been considered.
