This study investigated engine performance and exhaust gas by comparing ultrasonic energy added gasoline fuel used ultrasonic energy fuel feeding system with the conventional gasoline fuel<br/> This results are obtained as follow<br/> 1. In engine performance, it was found that specific fuel consumption, brake power, and brake thermal efficiency was improved more 3.5%, 4.73%, 3.63% respectively in case of ultrasonic energy added gasoline fuel than in case of conventional gasoline fuel.<br/> 2. This experiment was undertaken to investigate spray characteristics of the conventional injection system and the ultrasonic energy added injection system.<br/> Sauter mean diameter was measured under the variation of injection pressure and the spray distance. To measure the droplet size, we used the Malvern system 2600C. The spray angle and mass distribution were analyzed to the CCD camera and the patternater.<br/> After experiment, it was found that the ultrasonic energy added injection system had smaller Sauter mean diameter of droplet, wider mass distribution and wider spray angle than the conventional injection system had.<br/>

To investigate the effect of ultrasonic energy on the spray characteristics of gasoline injection, we researched 2-D spray mass-distribution of gasoline sprayed by gasoline injector, controlled by electronic circuit, and compared in case of gasoline added ultrasonic energy with in case of not.<br/> The mass-distribution characteristics of gasoline spray was measured by 2-D patternator equivalent spray cone angle was calculated with the data.<br/> The major three parameters are the ultrasonic energy, added on gasoline or not, injection pressure, 2bar~6bar by 1bar, the sampling distance from nozzle tip, 60~120mm by 20mm.<br/> The results show that the equivalent spray cone angle was larger gradually by adding ultrasonic energy, lowering injection pressure and sampling distance.<br/> With this results, the data-base on the spray characteristics of gasoline injector would be compiled and utilized for betterment of gasoline injector.

This experimental study was performed by the reflection object and the variation of injection pressure with the conventional injector and the ultrasonic fuel adding injector in order to improve the characteristics of the fuel injector for EFI type<br/> The cause and effect of the characteristic improvement of the ultrasonic adding fuel was fo und out by the chamical structure analysis.<br/> The results are obtained as follows;<br/> 1. The SMD by the conventional injector and the ultrasonic fuel adding injector are much s-maller as injection pressure increase. Also, the SMD and distribution of the particle by the ultrasonic fuel adding injector is better than those by the conventional injector.<br/> 2. The chamical property of fuel was changed by ultrasonic energy.<br/>

To investigate spray of emulsified fuel of W/O type, we mixed water with diesel oil by using ultrasonic energy adding system. We measured the SMD of sprayed droplet to find atomization characteristics of emulsified fuel by using the Malvern 2600D system. The main results are as follows; 1) The more water content increased, the more SMD increased. 2) The more measuring distance increased between one hole nozzle tip and analyser beam, the more SMD increased. These conditions are the amount of water content, 0~30% by 5% in emulsified fuel, and the distance, 10 ~100mm by 10mm. between nozzle tip and analyser beam.<br/>

The air-shrouded injector is the type of injection mixed fuel and air with a proper air flow rate. Usually we can obtain the outstanding atomization effect without special equipments, using the air-shrouded injector. Injection pressure ‘ how to mix the fuel and air, flow rate and velocity of shrouded air. arc the major facts to atomize the fuel particle when the fuel is sprayed to the intake valve by the air-shrouded injector<br/> So ‘ this experiment was performed with variations of injection pressure from 2.0 to 4.0 at intervals of O.5(bar) and air flow rate from 0 to 10 at intervals of 2(SCFH)<br/> The mass-distribution characteristics of gasoline injection was measured by 2-D patternator with 400 slits(20 x 20). Through the result of the mass-distribution, we could understand the injection characteristics of air-shrouded injector and forecast the atomization of fuel particle in the intake manifold

This experiment was undertaken to investigate the spray characteristics of the conventional injection system and the ultrasonic energy added injection system. Test fuels were diesel fuel and mixed BC oil. The injection temperatures of mixed BC oil were the normal temperature(20˚C) and the high temperature(95 ± 2 ˚C). Sauter mean diameter was measured under the variation of th" spray distance. In this thest, injection pressure was 120kg/cm². To measure the droplet size. we used the Malvrn system 2600C. Droplet size distribution was analyzed from the result data of Malvern systern. After this experiment, we found that the condition of the ultrasonic energy added injection and high temperature injection had smaller Sauter mean diarmeter of droplet than that of the conventional <br/>
